Has an NFL team ever had two 1,000 yd backs in the same year?? With the potetial of our O-line and extreme emphasis on the run I think it could happen this year. I have no doubts about Ronnie as long as he stays healthy and have been hearing alot about the great shape Ricky's in.

Off the top of my head there has been atleast three teams to have two 1,000 yard backs in the same season.
1972 Miami Dolphins with Larry Csonka and Mercury Morris
1976 Pittsburgh Steelers with Franco Harris and Rocky Bleier
1985 Cleveland Browns with Kevin Mack and Ernest Byner

Sorry I dont see it.

Ronnie - can you really count on him being ready to come back and finish a season intact at this point. I am not bashing his ability and I think if he comes back OK and can STAY healthy he is an easy 1500 yard back.

Ricky - Again I will ask what has he done lately to think that he still has game? It more points to me that he has come back to get out of owing the money and then will call it a career.

Potential on the Oline - I can see 2 good players that have proved it with Carey and Satelle. Not buying Smiley at all until i see him come back from his INJ and play. Also long will be good this year IMO but he is no Joe Thomas and will struggle. I still see NO LG on the roster. Combine that with NO respect of your passing game due to the WRs and QB and I think you will be seeing a ton of stacked boxes which will be hard to get 1 big yardage back let alone two

Totally forgot bout Csonka and Morris but deffinetly had no idea about anyone else.

We had two 1,000 yard rusher in Csonka and Morris back in 72.

csonka and morris were the first ever backfield that accomplished that..
it never happened before that a team had 2 1000+yards rushers..
imo it could be accomplished by ronnie and ricky but it would all have to be perfect..and i don't know if you really can do that with two rookies and one 2nd year starter on the line..but if brown and williams do that i think we will be pretty sure in the playoffs ;)

If Ronnie wasn't coming off injury and Ricky was the player he was a few years back Icould see it but at this point I think it will be less likely.

I agree with most of your post, but last year when Ronnie was dominating the league we were getting 8 in the box every play.

I can see the Jags having the best 2 back system next year without a doubt...last year Taylor had i think 1200 yds and Drew had about 800....i can see 1000 each next year without a doubt...outside of those 2 i don't see n e one other team really having two 1000 yard rushers. And maybe Peterson and Taylor too in Minnesota. But i don't see Ronnie and Ricky doing it...i see them combining for about 1600 rushing yards total at best. but maybe about 2000 - 2100 all purpose yards combined.

I want people to read very carefully.

Ricky....is.....done.

His chances of getting 1000 yards are nearly zero. He is a 400 yard guy at absolute best.

The running game will be our passing game, the offensive line will be better this year.

Against the some of the worst run defenses in the NFL though. He did good dont get me wrong but he faces 4 of the worst run defenses in the league during that stretch.
