  • One guys take on the Ty Law injury.
Ty Law will be the starting CB somewhere in 2005. The question is where and when. After Carl Poston, Law’s agent, recently declared that Law was “85% healed", teams immediately started asking what that meant. Law is recovering from surgery to repair a broken bone in his left foot, followed by a second procedure to clean up some ligament damage that occurred when Law tried to come back for the Pats’ playoff run. A player reliant on his quickness – and now 31 years old – Law is hardly the best candidate to come back to 100%. The comment from Poston likely means nothing medically – it’s a comment more designed for salesmanship than medical reliability. Law’s bone was screwed and plated and at nearly a year post, there’s no real possibility that the injury is not at maximum medical improvement (MMI). The ligament is likely healed up as much as it’s going to be as well, meaning that Law still hopes to get some improvement due to reduced pain or increased comfort. 85% of Ty Law is still productive, assuming it fits into a team’s cap structure. If I’m thinking of signing him – and it seems several teams are – I want to see him run, then I want to see his foot the next day.

85% of Ty Law dosen't cut it.

say Ty Law ran a 4.4... 85% of that is a like a 5 second 40.

I bet every CB in the league runs better than that.

85% Law is better than anyone we have as the #2. I am in the minority with this but he has great insticts and skills. Combine that with the familiarity he may have with the Saban/Billicheck (sp) system, which is zone based, and he could be a huge asset. FOR THE RIGHT PRICE. I cant think of a better situation that Law picking off Brady to keep them from the playoffs. MMMMM that would be SWEET!

Ty Law picking off Brady and returning it for a TD to knock them out of the playoffs and clinch our spot? :D

Actually, I'm getting tired of Law's antics.

i would actually be very happy if we could add Law. the longer he is available the better for miami.

At this point with camps just 2/3 weeks away I doubt many signings take place.

  • First, the big money is already gone earlier in FA (March)
  • Second teams need to sign their DP's.
  • Third teams need to assess their rosters once camps starts (contact) and see who can perform and who can't, who is injured, etc.
Once teams have had time to assess their true needs then we will see some veteran FA players come to terms.... but it won't be for big money IMO. It's all about value.

COME ON NICK LETS LAY THE LAW DOWN IN MIAMI ONCE AND FOR ALL!!!!!!! p.s im going to see mark farner founder of grand funk railroad cant wait !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope you guys sign him.... he's gonna be a shadow of his former self.

If we could burn Suratin and Madison, we can burn beat up old Law and Madison.

play ?

Miami's defense has torn apart young QBs. QBs considered much "better" than Losman.

Ben Roethlisberger 12/22 for 163yds, rating of 74.6. Third-worst game of the season.

Carson Palmer, 21 of 38 for 147yds and a pick.

Tim Rattay, 23/38 for 181yds. No TDs, no picks.

Luke McCown, 9/16 for 161 and 2 picks.

Kyle Boller, 14/27 for 142 and a TD.

Oh, and we had the #1 passing defense in the NFL. We lost Surtain, but I wouldn't go as far as to say you're going to pick us apart.

Not to mention Saban's major expertise is in the Defensive secondary...
