Dolphins | Law Offered a Contract - from KFFL
Thu, 9 Jun 2005 07:08:05 -0700

Jason Cole, of the Miami Herald, reports the Miami Dolphins have a one-year, minimum salary contract offer on the table to free agent CB Ty Law (Patriots). Based on previous reports, Law is seeking a more lucrative contract.

Yeah, it is supposley a leauge min contract. I doubt he will sign in though.

Yeah......one of the league's elite defenders (when healthy) is "stingy" for not signing for the vet minimum. :shakeno: GET A CLUE!!

That's the thing..when healthy. We're not going to offer him higher then the minimum if he's not healthy. That would be a dumb thing to do.

he wants a like 5 yr deal w. benfits for health and money at about 4 mill a year too much money for Law now

If I was Ty Law, I wouldn't care about money because he's already loaded. Also, I would sign the minimum offer with the fins because he lives in Miami.

I'm not saying that we (or any other team) should give him what he's asking for......but even with health concerns, he's worth way more than the vet minimum, and will get more than that.

I just couldn't believe that someone would consider him "stingy" for not jumping at the absolute least amount of money that he could possibly sign for....then again, condidering the source.......

this is likely his last pay day.....you better believe that he's gonna get all that he can......and 98% of all other players would too.

This is very true! I saw his episode of MTV Cribs and his house is PIMP!

I think that Law will wait a while longer before he signs with us or anyone else. He is not completely healthy and could get an incentive based, league minumum contract with several teams...He wants a longer termed contract, but probably won't get it here. He'd fit in well here, because of similar schemes and his home here in SFL, but Saban hasn't indicated that he's desperate enough to up the ante yet. While he WAS a premier CB, the plantar injury leaves that status in doubt. It is a very tough injury to come back from, especially for a position where change of direction and forward and backpedalling are your main movements.

Still, I wouldn't mind seeing him for the right price...

Yeah, I saw it too. Isn't his house in Miami? If it is, I would take less money just so I can play in city where my extravagant house is.

Very possible. However, only he and his doctors really know if he'll ever get back to form. IF he knows he can... a one year contract could end up being a good gamble.

I would think that the only way Ty Law would sign that contract is if he doesn't get a better offer from anyone else.
