Just trying to get some opinions on him from everyone. The stuff I am watching on him is jumping off the screen. I just worry that he might be a little too muscle bound as a WR as would like to see a bigger catch radius from him and he has had some drops this year. The muscle build could be limiting his flexibility which reduced that radius. But man, love watching him run in traffic and returning kicks. In Lazor's short passing offense and needing YAC from a receiver I think he would be ideal. He runs though tackles, of course he is built like a RB or TE from the waist down.

Character wise this guy is squeaky clean and seems to be a solid leader on the team as well. I have seen him graded anywhere from late first to mid third. Right now I have him as late first to early second, just too many things jump out at me in a positive light.

Give me some thought...

My thought is I like Montgomery but Stanford won't miss him. Just the opposite, if it means McCaffery's son fills those roles. He is unbelievable, the most clever and elusive white guy you'll ever see in this era.

Absolutely dead on regarding Christian McCaffrey. He's a bigger stronger version of Tim Dwight when he was at Iowa, which perhaps makes him even more versatile. Let that sink in for a minute...

I like what I've seen from Montgomery and his fit in this offense, I want a bigger catch radius guy though. He reminds me of Allen Robinson from last year, great with the ball in his hands catching screens and short passes and with good size.

Ty Montgomery kept Stanford in the game in SLC back in 2013. He's a big WR who can return kicks and move the chains. I'm not sure about his catch radius but does seem fundamentally sound. The Dolphins should grab him in the 3rd before Indy does.

Another thought... If Miami decides to replace Wallace; his replacement s/b Agholor (So Cal)... he doesn't have crackhead speed but is definitely more polished and the Trojans so have a pro style offense.

I was very impressed w/ the younger McCaffery in the Bowl game. He will definitely be one to watch.

Gotta hope McCaffrey makes it through his career without a serious leg injury, one that would rob him of some of his great gifts.

Not many guys were so rare it caused me to apply that hope almost from the outset. Marcus Dupree was one of them. Unfortunately it happened within a couple of years. I'll always remember watching that obscure USFL game on a grainy screen at Gary Austin's ill fated Las Vegas sportsbook when Dupree's leg collapsed after a jarring tackle on a pitch sweep to the right. Career essentially over.

It's easy to forget how solid an athlete Easy Ed McCaffrey was for Denver before he broke his leg. If his son is like that he's good.

He's too stiff in and out of breaks and doesn't make a hard plant with his foot in the ground at the top of routes. He's going to struggle to get open at the next level. I really like him a lot as returner though. I have him the 10th rated WR right now.

Montgomery measured in at the senior bowl at 5-11.6 and 216 lbs not he's listed 6-2 215 lbs that's gonna hurt him.
