This guy was supposed to be one of "the guys to watch" this season. After Wanny took over, he and his team automatically sucked. I doubt he would come out after such a pitiful season, but do you think he could be a diamond in the rough in next year's draft? Mueller is known for drafting quarterbacks and finding good players late in the draft. While we might already have a young starter by then, we could certainly use depth or trade bait.
If for some reason he were to declare (doesn't think he'll survive behind Wanny's o-line) I'd love to see us take him in a later round. Marino had a bad season following a great one, and that worked out nicely for us. Must be a Pitt thing.

Maybe. He seems "tainted" to me now though.

i agree. he has been exposed to wanny and thus will be a career underacheiver...it's a damn shame that he is still allowed to coach.:shakeno:

I just don't see it as being his fault.

Im a Pitt fan and it is totally Wanny's fault and Ill explain why. Palko has good downfield strength and accuracy, he showed it last season. This year when Wanny took over Pitt started running a lot of the same plays the phins ran last year. For example quick outs that are obvious to the db's and little screens that go nowhere. He also continues to run the ball which we all know he loves to do, and he never lets palko throw deep.

Yeap....i too was big on this guy and i wish the guy the best more now than ever because with Wanny coaching him...he's gonna need it.

Palko was a fine quarterback before this year.

No thanks. He looks like another Harrington to me. No poise and not great accuracy.

I never saw an arm. Even last year it looked like he floated the deep stuff and had to exert plenty of energy just for medium velocity on the mid-range stuff. I don't know how you blame Wanny for a guy who just doesn't have pro tools.

A lot of people would disagree. Palko has a good downfield arm, maybe not great but good.

i wanted nothing to do with palko back when wannstadt was still coaching the dolphins. my opinion hasn't changed

Wanny ruins everything he touches....he could ruin a wet dream with Pamela Anderson.

Being a Palko fan I've seen him a lot more than most. He has downfield arm strength though he tends to get a lot of air under those passes, similar to Leinart, but they are very accurate which is the reason Greg Lee averages 20+ ypc for his career. He has the good strength on intermediate passes & when he has to he can put a little extra on it because of his release. His release is rather slow because it is a wind up style similar to Leftwich & Elway. He can not throw the out, at all, it's a pick six the other way seemingly every time because he doesn't look away first. Other than his first three games, which cast such a negative cloud over him, he has played pretty well throwing for 12 TDs 3 ints 59.6% comp. Before this season he was a day one pick, now he'll have to rebuild his rep to get out of the late rounds. Pitt still has a chance to win the Big East & land in the BCS.

I actually know Tyler pretty well. I graduated high school two years before him and am from Western Pa. Hes an excellent qb with a gun for an arm and actually reminds me of a left handed favre with the whole western pa thing going for him too like marino, kelly, unitas, namath, montana. Seriously though he was going to come out after his junior year or at least that was the plan but now him Hb Blades and Greg Lee are all returning for their senior year do to the inconsistency of this year. Hes a hell of a qb and watch Pitt vs Louisville tomorrow because if PITT wins then they just have to beat WVU on thanksgiving and they are once again Big East champs and have a BCS bowl. Well I would think Palko is a second round pick if he were to come out this year and mid first if he comes out after his senior year.
