Has anyone heard about his progression in regards to learning the offense? Lets keep in mind, he played 11 games for an AWEFUL KC Team last season. He still managed 18 TD passes with 13 Interceptions / Almost 400 rushing yards with 3 rushing TD's at a 6 YPC....

He would be IDEAL to take some direct snaps from Center in the Wild-Cat VS The Jets, if he can be ready that fast.

This would keep the Jets and Ryan off Balance. I liked Henne's first outing, very nice. But his pocket presence needs work and he has no big threat WR'S. Thigpen at 24, also is used to running a spread out offense. If he could manage 25 pct of the snaps, this would keep the Jets and Rex Ryan Guessing and give us a look at how Thigpen fits into our scheme.

Thoughts?

Let's be counteractive to Henne's progress shall we? So what you're saying is we should put Henne on the sideline for a few plays so Thigpen can take some snaps after being here only several days? I'm not so sure I like that idea even if he is familiar with the offense, that doesn't mean he's familiar with the guys he'd be handing off or throwing to

From what I have read, the offense he was running in KC was similiar to what we run here in Miami. I wont be surprised if he is listed as Henne's backup over Pat White for this Sunday's game.

The Idea of having someone with his Mobility (He also has a nice arm) and Pocket Awareness, along with experience in running a spread out offense, could keep the Jets with their Blitz packages off balance.

Henne looked great for his first game last Sunday, but Thigpen although only 24 is an experienced NFL QB and from what I understand, smart as well. It's odd we haven't heard anything about him at all. I wouldn't be surprised if he is running that Wild-Cat or (Spread Out Offense) for a few plays with the starters right now.

Pat White, obviously isn't ready. Just a though.

I don't know if not hearing anything is good or bad. The organization is usually hush hush on stuff anyways.

Interesting Thigpen stat: He got worse in every quarter.

Here are his QB ratings by quarter:

1st Quarter: 97.1
2nd Quarter: 79.3
3rd Quarter: 69.1
4th Quarter: 62.6

I would say just 2 weeks with our team is not enough time to bring him in yet unless we had huge quarterback issues. Even then it would not be the right thing to do. Lets see him in some mop up duty first!

i dont like it. if he comes in and throws one pass and its a good play, all we will see is heene sucks plkay thigpen threads.

Well, I'm all for anything that keeps the Jets D guessing as opposed to us guessing.

I agree with other posters who have said right now, this is Hennes job to lose. Though to be honest, and I authored a post about this last week, we can only hope that Henne will have as good a season this year as Thigpen did last year. TT was outstanding for a rookie in his situation.

Which is a good case for him.

You cannot ask a rookie QB on a very bad team to go out and have to win every game in the fourth qtr. Obviously, when he can go in the game on equal footing and a good game plan, hes a very good QB.

Take Henne out of the Wildcat plays, line Thigpen up as a receiver and bring him in motion. That would keep the Jet safeties out of the box and make it easier for Ronnie to run.

Put him in motion to the right side and have him throw one from out there.... They'd have to think about the throwing option every time. That means more yards for Ronnie straight up the gut.:callme:
