Apparently he was arrested yesterday for possession of marijuana. Just a few questions regarding him. Does this affect his chances of returning to LSU next season? And if he doesn't return does he enter the draft this year and where will he be drafted taking into account his off the field issues? The guy is a heck of a football player but I guess not the sharpest tool in the shed.

I'd say little to no chance Miles lets him back on the team. I'd guess he enters the draft. Too many red flags for me, though. Definitely not a Philbin type player, from what we know of him so far.

No chance of returning to LSU now. He can enter the 2013 draft since he will be 3 years removed from high school. I think the kid is very overrated myself and these off-field issues will knock him down drastically...might even go undrafted.

Some team will take a chance on him. A team that has very low character standards i.e. jets, raiders, denver... If Clarette went in the 3rd, Mathieu will go as well. He is a much better prospect minus the off field issues.

I think he's overrated myself. He has a knack for big plays on special team, blocked punts, blocked kicks, picking up fumbles someone else causes but he's actually not very good in coverage and got burned a lot.

Someone will take a chance on him I mean Cincy took Burfict as an undrafted free agent and he's played very well for them...question will be can he keep himself in check for the long run. Eventually guys like him revert back to what they've always been and that's a troublemaker on and off the field. We've seen this played out many times, Terrell Owens when he complained his way out of San Fran and went to Philly eventually went back to pouting and being a cancer in the locker room, did the same when he went to Dallas...first year was quiet and contributed then back to distraction and problem child. Randy Moss pouted his way out of Minny, went to Oakland pouted his way out of there, stayed quiet for the better part of 3 years in New England and then decided he'd had enough, took plays off and pouted his way off that team. Brandon Marshall pouted his way out of Denver came here was quiet his first year and that second year he was throwing everyone under the bus...whine, whine, whine. These guys can't hide who they are for long.

kids just killed his draft status...one thing after another...likely undrafted now and makes someones 53 if he gets an invite

I'd take a late-round flyer on him. As far as how I view him fitting on an NFL D, I'm thinking of a later-career C. Woodson. I haven't heard anything about him being a bad kid - just a kid who is being irresponsible. To my knowledge, he got on fine at LSU - save for the weed. If he never gets over his weed thing (whether quitting or learning to hide it better), well, late round picks miss the team all the time. But if you hit, you're getting a playmaker - on both D and ST's. If the price is right (anywhere after the 5th), roll them dice.

Not to open a political debate but it's a shame this kid threw away his opportunity at LSU for a substance that should be legalized.
