I wasn't able to get on finheaven at all so I assumed the server or site was down temporarliy like every site has that moment from time to time, but then I see that everyone else had posted when I couldn't get on, what's uo with that? Anyway, I heard about Miami looking at Drew Henson, but they were also looking at Tyrone Calico and have him workout. Some have said that he looked promising in his rookie season, and he might be something to check out. My question is, where has he been the past seasons? I don't think he was on the Titans all these seasons, I think he was let go a couple seasons ago and what team did he go? The guy did seem to do well with McNair and I wonder why the Titans let him go. Most Wrs I am aware of them being traded or let, etc, but I have no idea where this player has been the past seasons, and what do you guys thing of Tyron Calico?

It might have been just a numbers game- they got Courtney Roby (Reggie's nephew) and Jonathan Orr in the last 2 drafts, some other guys as well (Bobby Wade?). Maybe he could play well for us, who knows.

I know we can never have enough receivers. But maybe we should be bringing in some people that we might be needing i.e. lineman, safeties, cb's, another linebacker. Just seems kinda funny to only look at receivers. I dunno, maybe I'm alone on this one.

When all of these players are brought in for workouts, its just due dilligence. Saban checks them out, if they're better than we have on roster at their position right now, we sign 'em and waive the other guy. If they're not, he keeps a file on them in case of injury to roster player as a possible replacement.

Tyrone Calico played at Middle Tennessee State University. I wanted the Dolphins to draft him when he came out because he is fast and tall. The problem the Titans had with him is that he is constantly injured and does not have the best hands. I can tell you that none of the Titans fans here were sad or even bothered that Calico was released. I would still like to see the Dolphins pick him up, just because I have a feeling we are going to start dropping some players off in trades to try and get some O-line help.

You're not alone on that.
I'm very disappointed about the way Nick is filling the blanks, because many of us can see that our biggest blanks are on the secondary, o-line and depth at the linebacker position.
Ths week our beloved fins keep playing with QB and WR, where it's clear our troops have depth and perhaps we need to tune those places, while we have no clue on most secondary men.
It's a shame that our 1st rounder hasn't showed the required level to make the starter role.
On the other hand, there's so much to hope, because this week in Houston i see a huge opportunity to make the right moves on offense and develop in order to tune the engine to combat both Jets and Patriots.

i like tyrone calico. id like to see us pick him up. has all the physical attrubutes you would want, he just needs to make it happen on the field. he looked pretty good a few years ago

Drew was already signed by Minnesota earler today

Wasn't Calico the guy who messed up not one but both knees in one preseason play his rookie year? He has terrific size, but that's about it. I'd suggest Miami pass.

see, you make it seem that because he is bringing in WR's, he cannot bring in OL/CB/etc.

this doesnt make sense, he brings in anyone who is qualified to improve ANY position. if no new CB's or OL men are being brought in, and we know this is a need aspect for us, that simply means there are no qualified personnel on the market.

I mean, unless you can prove me wrong and show me a few?

it was his second year, after a Roy Williams horse collar tackle in the final preseason game of '04... it was sickening... the guy was poised to ascend, after an extremely promising rookie year in '03 when McNair was co-MVP....

he's 6'4" and 220, and ran like the wind... meaning he has/had T.O. ability, but not the hunger, and could never stay healthy

i think he's ruined, physically and psychologically... but who knows? i like the invitation, and i hope he catches on... certainly better than Vick, Gibson, Ashomangu (or whatever) and etc. ...

.

Has there been anyone, anyone at all even worth looking at who was available at O-line or secondary the last few weeks??? NO there has not been, there's been a few talented WR's and a couple other positions so that's what Saban and the team looked at. It really has nothing more to do with anything but that, do you want Saban to just go around and work out EVERY big body and try to plug them in at OL somewhere??? Hey I got a couple of fat friends, maybe they should try out.

Exactly. Just several weeks ago we not only brought in some OL but we signed 3 of them: starter Kendyl Jacox, Trey Darliek (after releasing Wade Smith which is an upgrade IMO), and former rookie starter Will Whitticker (who probably would have made his team if he wasn't 330 plus lbs. and more of a zone-blocking Guard)

You are spot on IMO. Maybe its because theres no real talent that can help us i dont know?
