Many here hate the guy, and very likely did not watch his play for the whole season. Here is a game by game run down. I'm not very good at posting these things. So, bear with me or, someone can re-do it for an easier read.

As we can see, the last 9 games were much different than the first 6, and that he played very well. I was all in for an upgrade in FA but, did not happen. Based on those last 9 games, Clabo is easily the best available option left in FA. I would sign him to compete with a 2nd round draft OT.

IF you could get David Stewart to NOT retire, then I would pick him.

I would hope the Fins could go another direction at RT, but I would understand if they went to resign Clabo. However, the answer at the position has to be with one of the first two picks in May.

Completely agree. We lost out on any upgrade in FA, and have to hope to get lucky in the draft. Clabo is my best option, at this pint, for insurance. I really want a RT who is VG at run blocking, and they are extremely hard to find in their first year of play.

I'd rather sign Travelle Wharton at guard and draft a tackle, but re-signing Clabo does give us flexibility come draft day. He's better than most of what is left out there on the tackle market at this point. Shouldn't be expensive either.

I would like the same, and wanted more out of FA. However, it is what it is, and drafting a RT does not mean he will be good or, ready to play this year. Clabo is the best option I see, and his play in the last 9 games bears me out.

If I recall, Clabo was cut by Atlanta because of cap number and he was coming off an injury. Is it possible that his weak first half of the season was due to him not fully recovering from his injury?
Many people were excited when he was signed and were equally disappointed at the decline in his play from one season to the next.

No injury, he missed like 10 snaps in 2 years before coming here. The disappointment was on his play for the first 6 games, not the back 9.

Good post, and he's not a horrible option if we need him to stay on and play RT, but I don't know how motivated he is.

I think the entire line resented being blamed for every single sack and pressure, or lost down, when the QB, RB's and TE's are supposed to work with the O line together to make this scheme work. The ZBS was obviously not working and that is what needs to be solved this year.

He was a solid pickup, but wasn't exactly spectacular in Atlanta. More than a few of the fans were not upset over losing him. He also played better in man blocking instead of zone, and when he came to Miami he had to play zone. He struggled, and our whole offense failed to work together as a unit.

I trust this new OL coach coming in to assess the situation and along with Lazor and Philbin, they have to make the right call here. Clabo may very well be fine and have a good year, if he's resigned.

He allowed too many devastating 4th quarter game losing drive killing sacks...ill pass

Had to edit the TB game where he gave up 2 sacks. So, anyone going by sacks alone, Clabo gave up 3 in 9 games. Few were better.

He was the ultimate pro in being benched, and responded very well. No idea why he was horrible early.

Name those sacks? He oly had 3 in the last 9 games, should be easy to do.

Clabo IS the best option for right now. Sure, lets draft a Zach Martin who can play RT...but doing good in college doesn't mean you'll do good in the NFL. At least Clabo is experienced and knows the Dolphins well.

Umm who said just the first nine games? Last i checked all the games count equally...Bills game (first match) and Ravens game come to mind. Both very close games.

Yeah, I did want to replace him with a better run blocker on the right side but, no one is there is left. In pass protect, he was top ten in the last 9 games, and I could live with him competing with a rookie, who may or not work.

I usually agree and like how you formulate arguments Southbeach but I must admit I have never disagreed with you more. Not only did I watch all the games live, but I re-watched the whole season last week, as well as that video on youtube with all the sacks that occurred during the season. What is obvious is that our whole O-line was bad but the gem of crap was Tyson Clabo. He may not have allowed a bunch of sacks but he definitely allowed the greatest amount of disruption and hurries on the QB, plus he was totally dominated constantly, every week.
