Here is my thing...the maturation of Ryan Tannehill is SO IMPORTANT. I like the weapons they got for him, but talent on the line was always questionable and they are misfits for what they are being asked to do. Asking John Jerry to run a stretch play is one of the dumbest things I have seen in an NFL game.
By trading for Albert that would have had one of the best pass blocking LT's in the league, Incognito and Pouncey have been good and Martin was okay at RT. That left RG and to this day I do not know why Jerry keeps getting snaps. A. why was this spot not upgraded better in FA/draft and B. Nate Garner would serve to give the athleticism needed at that spot. I know he gets hurt a ton, but who cares at this point. It is not as if he is playing right now.
If Tannehill does not improve this year or gets injured, it sets the team back even longer. Having a bad line does not help this process.
I think he's getting better but it's just going to take time. Whether or not having a ****ty OL will set him back, I don't know, but I can't imagine it's going to be good for him in the long run to get pounded behind awful pass protection for 16 games.
