UCF guys in the NFL (past and present)

Time for a little education...here are some former UCFers that you may or may not know about.

Yes, he was cut in training camp by Nick Saban in his first summer in Miami. Now knocking heads loose in Green Bay.

Brandon Marshall

Asante Samuel

Travis Fisher - DB - Lions (better-known years with the Rams)

Michael Gaines - TE - Buffalo Bills

Of course you all know about Daunte...

And Shawn Jefferson, a crafty veteran WR that played over a decade in the league came out of UCF in the school's D-IAA days.

As for 2008, watch out for WR Mike Walker in Jacksonville (drafted this past year but was put on IR with a knee injury), and of this year's leading rusher Kevin Smith IF he is put in the right situation and isn't buried on a depth chart behind a veteran.

Yep, I think you got every one.

Kevin Smith could be a beast in the right situation... like Denver (with its zone blocking).

In the next few years more and more players will enter the NFL from UCF. Not UF and UM #s but definately more than in the past. Next year look for Joe Burnett, Shareff Rashad, and possibly Jason Venson, Rocky Ross, and Phillip Smith (if he can stop fumbling the ball).

Our Freshman class last year was VERY strong. We got 2 WRs that should be able to go pro in Kameer Aiken and A.J. Guyton. Bruce Miller was a beast at DE and Lawrence Young was a stud at LB.

I would take a step back and breathe when you mention Rocky Ross or Philip Smith. I'm hearing that Philip is going to have a hard time staying at the top of the depth chart with challengers such as Ronnie Weaver and the 4 freshman backs coming in. Rocky Ross is a good possession receiver, but so was Jimmy Fryzel (Fryzel was much better), but he couldn't stick with a team when he tried out (actually tried out with the dolphins). We need to get a better look at them and the WRs (they need to have the offense come to them more before rushing to judgment.

Philip Smith looked solid last year the 2 times he carried the ball (lol). Who is the Weaver Guy you speak of, I have never heard of him before. We are having a great RB recruiting class so far though.
