1 million times yes. I couldn't tell if he was an ILB, Safety, or Corner. Seems like a great pick up.

Wow, great lookin backer, but why did he not get drafted?

This may have something to do with it.

According to NFL.com
http://www.nfl.com/draft/2016/profiles/james-burgess?id=2555165

Weaknesses Small for the position with questionable play toughness. Lack of physicality against the run showed up with 12 broken tackles and 32 missed tackles during three years as starter. Lacks decisiveness and play strength in attacking runs between the tackles. Run around linebacker losing gap leverage because of it. Too easily engulfed by linemen. Able to flow quickly to the ball when he diagnoses it, but his instincts are marginal at best. Will go under blocks and lose pursuit angles. Average awareness in space as zone defender.

5'11 227

Pro Day Results
40-yard dash: 4.61 and 4.65 seconds
Vertical: 32 1/2 inches
Broad jump: 10 feet, 1 inch
Short shuttle: 4.47 seconds
3-cone drill: 7.06 seconds
Bench: 21 reps of 225 pounds

He's only 5'11 227 and missed something like 30 tackles in the last three years. Needs work improving run support but may come in and have an impact as a third down linebacker

Good question. Since we signed him though, i am sure someone will find a reason to bitch. Based on what some have said, he needs some work. Hopefully we can coach him up.

Probably asked why he didn't get drafted because he looks like a good player in the video they saw of him. If someone sees a player who looks productive, a logical question would be "why didn't he get drafted?".

Special teams and maybe some sub package on passing downs would be his best shot at making the team most likely.
