I don't recall Cecil Collins being all that great even when he did take time off from his busy schedule of jacking off in front of married women to play football.

lol. The guy was a nut job no doubt! But, you can't deny his raw talent behind Ricky Williams(in that time period) he easily IMO was the 2nd most talent RB we hand under JJ and the stash.

Not sure what the big deal is, why all the praise for a guy that averaged 3.2 yards per attempt on his 131 carries in a Dolphins uniform.

He wasn't all that great a football player, in addition to being a nut job. And he wasn't the most talented tailback JJ had. The most talented tailback Jimmy Johnson had didn't make it out of training camp, and that was Tyrone Wheatley. But I'd also take Karim Abdul-Jabbar in his prime over Cecil 'the Diesel'.

Collins' entire draft story was based on something ridiculous like a four game stretch of high production as the starting tailback of LSU before he got busted down to McNeese State. He was garbage.

Jonas Gray at 5'10" 225 has the build we need to pound the rock. He also has good speed. Maybe he can be stashed on IR this season if he is NOT 100%.

I don't think you can go on Injured Reserve unless you get injured as a Miami Dolphin. He came to the Dolphins with a pre-existing injury and so he can either go on the Non-Football Injury reserve list or the Physically Unable to Perform reserve list. Either one I believe forces you to make a choice by Week 9 whether to put him on the active roster or to cut him.

im pretty sure that he can be put on the ir after being on the pup. may be wrong

The problem was that he worked so many hours on that second job that he was always to fatigued to do what was needed for thr Phins! He also wasn't around long enough to get a chance to show what he could do. Again, his second job cam into play....

I am no scout but he looks unimpressive to me. Not consistently impressive anyways. Injury or not, he wouldn't crack our line up with Reggie Bush/DT/Lamar Miller

The most talented nut job we had as a RB was definitly Lawrence Philips IMO... But he was also the most imbicile one... Go figure...

All I can say is that as an avid ND fan, I am thrilled he's a Dolphin.
Minus the BIG FUMBLE inside the goal line (1st game of the season against USF, which was returned for a touch down) He was a work horse for us until his injury.
I can't wait to see him healthy and in a fins uni!
