The United Football League had its debut on Thursday night and in its infinite brilliance went against college football and the baseball playoffs. In other words, someone threw the UFL a shovel and told it to start digging its own grave.

This was the opening weekend of the league and it was invisible.
The UFL stands for the Unseen Football League.

Besides going against playoff baseball, the promotion has been horrible. I had no idea they were playing already

Only heard Friday morning that it had taken place. What the hell were the organisers thinking when trying to play the league while both the NFL and College Football are in full swing. To generate a bit of publicity and cash in on those barrons months when no football is played, a summer league would have made much more sense. They were probably waiting to see what ****ty players got cut and were'nt re-signed by NFL teams, but when there is only four teams in the league, it was'nt going to make that much of a difference

2 problems IMO for this league.

1. Playing now when the NFL, NCAA and MLB Playoffs are going on.

2. Having teams in cities who already have an NFL franchise (San Francisco and New York, though the New York teams play in Jersey).

Las Vegas I can see would be a decent fit. Orlando? Eh, I guess every city in Florida needs a team right? :rolleyes2:

All in all, who cares about this jackass league. If they had a team in Northern Virginia, I still wouldn't give a damn.

Theres always NOVA Flag Football!

I watched it. Good game, very well played.

But the uniforms were the most feminine color schemes I've ever seen. And Doug Flutie was a joke in going out of his way to emphasize what a high caliber of coaching and play the league featured. Twice would have been plenty. He must have said it a dozen times.
