Months before the Chicago Bears clinched their first trip to the Super Bowl in 21 years, safety Chris Harris stared into a video camera and promised to take fan Bryan Lange with him to Miami if the team made it to the big game.

In a phone interview, Harris' agent, Albert Elias, said he was unaware of Harris' promise but called Lange's appeal "a very unreasonable request considering Chris has over 40 family members trying to get tickets and he's only offered 15.''

What a jerk, atleast pay for his trip to Miami....

Man that is just messed up, even has the tape to prove it. And the agent saying its unreasonable is a punk also. If you promise someone then follow through on it.

He broke his promise, yes. But the guy needs to get over it IMO. The world isn't always fair.

He's just trying to get some publicity for his public access TV show and crappy website.

And some super bowl tickets:tongue:

he made a promise on some crappy local access show, i doubt he even remembers doing it. he has family, and it's a lot more important for them to go than this guy.

I would do the same thing. Family first. He may never go back to the superbowl so he has to take advantage.

SO I guess if I ever lose a bet, I can just say well my family needs the money more, I dont have to pay...
I mean, he really should have thought of this before he made a statement, then reassured the dude that he was being serious...He could atleast fork out a couple grand for this guy to get a ticket, if he doesnt want to give him one of his personally...
Hes gonna get a 36,000 dollar bonus even if the Bears lose the superbowl...

Well hell how much are you betting. 100k. It's up to you if you don't pay and give the money to your family. Eventually you'll face the bookie. If you end up missing that the chance you take. Most gambling place requires you pay first then bet so you they wont get stiff. Like the saying goes promises are meant to be broken. Im pretty sure everyone here including yourself bullseye have broken a promise.

Problem is, none of us have broken a promise on camera. ...at least I haven't.

Harris stands to lose a whole lot more than the price of a Super Bowl ticket since this "promise" can be considered a binding verbal agreement. Lange could sue not only for the cost of the ticket, but also for punitive damages. :(

Of course, if I were Lange, I'd consider not pushing too hard... It would be a little messy to fight and get the ticket and then end up sitting with Harris' pissed-off relatives...

Harris shouldn't have opened his mouth if he had no intentions of taking this guy to the Super Bowl. The guy even said to him he was going to hold him to his word and the player essentially agreed. Harris should keep his word and buy this guy a ticket!

Give the man a ticket and be a man about it. The guy made a promise now he has to own up to it no matter what.
