I might have missed it being posted but, i had no idea how sunday's win was something that had not been done before.

Sunday's 26-17 victory over the Broncos gave them back-to-back wins over division leaders that had sole possession of first place for the first time in the franchise's 43-year history.

Misleading, impressive yes, but look who we beat. Not exactly teams we'll be talking aboiut come the post season.

And still yet, its we have never done it before, which means marino never did it and griese has never did it, shula has never did it.

You are exactly right its misleading, at the very least it could mean we have never been scheduled back to back divisional leaders (kind of strange when you think about it- but quite possible) At the very most we have flubbed at least once every time the tough part of the schedule occurs. Either way more explaination on that stat would be interesting.
:woot:

I suppose that should happen more often now that there are more divisions.

Add to that we are supposed to have a last place schedule coming off a 1-15 season. Yet manage to face and beat division leaders in back to back weeks.

At least 1/3 more exactly

Oh and now that teams play entire divisions rather than specific teams it should also happen more.

But even when you take that into account you have to think it would be pretty easy thing to do as in lets say we play NE and they are divisional leader and then follow it up with one of the other 7 division leaders. (5 prealignment)

Its a strange stat and i wish they would have said more about it in the article

Edit- in the post before i said shula didnt do it, in truth he might have done it with baltimore
