Arm chair experts w ho get their info from Sporting news and Lindys know more about the talent than the draft team assembled by the fins to watch thousands of hours of film, do thousands of hours of evaluation and leave no stone unturned in an attempt to fill gaps in their system.

What they should have done is listened to the fans that know so much from watching the odd game and listening to ESPN and draft who the fans want and not what the team needs. maybe then the bile and dross rolled out on this site would have been muted...

But I wouldnt hold my breath.

I scratched my head with some of the picks but you know, I dont know better...and guess what...neither do the rest of you on here

How dare you scratch your head on some of the picks you should lose your fan card or something like that.

Well said.

So since obviously every NFL team hires well qualified people, yes even the Raiders we should never question any pick because we are not qualified to make a judgement. Never say a movie is bad unless you made a movie. Never judge music because you are not a musician. In fact anything your local politican does should be fine with you because you have never been one.

Makes sense to me.

There's a difference between constructively criticizing a pick, and a bunch of negative nancys running around screaming because the Dolphins didn't get a guy that Mel Kiper Jr. couldn't stop RAVING about.

Wanna count how many bad picks Parcells has made in the past with me? I like the Tuna. I'm glad to have him here. But attempting to use the logic that he's a professional so he can't be wrong is well.. wrong.

Believe me most people that dont like our picks including me are not phased because an expert agrees or disagrees. If Kiper liked the White pick you would still see many that disagree. Why am I negative because I dont like the pick in any way. Maybe I just have an opinion.

Thats always how people try to justify the arguement when you dont agree with a pick. I think Shula is one of the all time greats and respect him much more than I do Parcells and I blasted many of his picks. I remember criticizing The Billy Milner pick and people were like how can you argue with a guy like Shula taking a player, well I went to high school at the same school and saw every game he basically played in and still that was not enough to have an opinion lol.

Do you just not like the fact that we drafted Pat White, or that he was taken 44th overall?

If the draft was private and only who you got was revealed, and you didn't know who was taken where and who was available when we picked and Nublar starts a thread that says "We got Vontae Davis, Sean Smith, and Pat White on day 1" Would you still feel the same way you do now?

I hate the pick in the second period. Did not realize we needed a qb or the rawest Wr prospect in the draft. Reminds me of taking a special teams player in the second. We had much bigger needs and passed on better talent in my opinion. I guess we should have taken Dennis Dixon last year.
I dont think he constitutes great value in the second round. Hey I could be wrong, nobody can for say 100 percent either way. I disliked the Beck pick in 2007 but understood it much more. I was blasted as an idiot that year and heard the familiar Mueller knows hell of a lot more about football than you will ever know.

Im not saying White is an awful football player I just think there were better picks to be made. I definately believe if White had been taken by any other team at 44 everybody on this board would be blasting the pick but since its our team of course we never overdraft a player.

I wouldn't say everyone would be blasting the pick, but its possible there would have been plenty of people who are loving this pick saying it was way too high if someone else had done it.

Hating the Beck pick was much easier to do compared to this. We didn't have a QB and we passed on Brady Quinn to take Ted Ginn instead and then take 30 year old John Beck. And then Cams only defense was he has a great family. There was so much more involved with hating that pick.

The way I see it, we have a QB in Pennington. We have another young QB in Henne. They feel that Pat White is prolly gonna go before their next pick, or most certainly before their 3rd rounder. They dont like anyone else on the board as much as White. I have no problem with them taking him.

I honestly believe he is going to compete with Henne for the QB job. And if he doesnt win that, its not like that it for him because he is not limited to one position because of his skill set. We still have the wildcat, he could still be a WR. There is basically three different ways we can use them, if he fails at all three then yeah, epic failure for that pick. If he succeeds at one or two of them and contributes to this team I wont complain. Anytime you spend a draft pick on someone and the ultimate result is that they contribute to your team being a good team, its all good in my book.

I very much doubt he will be a good enough qb at this level to compete with Henne, but anything is possible. I judge him more as a qb prospect because as a Wr prospect he probably was not
worth drafting since he does not have elite size or speed for a receiver and he has neverplayed reciever.

This is not the first time somebody decided that a qb that can run was the answer to multiple problems.

i'd feel much better if Al Davis, Matt Millen, Mel Kiper, Barney the Dinosaur & the thread starter liked all our picks but somehow i'll endure.
