UNBIASED Scouting Report of Tannehill vs. Bills

i'm with the no thanks on connor cook or hundley crowd...cook struggles too much against zone for my liking...although i dont think he's terrible...i'd just rather have tannehill...hundley is too much one read and take off type...nah

not interested in mariota only one i would be is winston who sees the field and ids coverage well...but i'm not studying qbs cause i dont think i need one and winstons going top 3 anyways...likely #1...cam newton style...teams will overlook some of the off field stuff

looking forward to the breakdown brotha... and as far as Mariota I think he is a more efficient Kaepernick. Doesn't have the arm strength of Kap but has more accuracy, short area quicks, and make-miss ability. Probably is more of a home run hitter as a runner as well. He also is disciplined with his eye level, it doesn't drop under pressure and he is disciplined working through his progressions. No doubt he is helped by the offense but he is not a bad prospect in his own right by any means. I think he sees the field well enough that you could put him in a true pro style offense and sprinkle in some spread like SF and CAR do with Kap and Cam. I have a hard time believing he can't match the success they have had as players. Too hard to predict overall team success because who knows that team he will be on.

Wallace is not an elite WR. he's a speedster... that's it.

And that has to factor into our analysis, his top two WRs are both body catchers with limited radius

Tannehills fault, Tannehill didn't adjust for his momentum and let the ball drift towards the out of bounds side. A franchise QB makes that throw.

Nope...that one is on Wallace. The ball would have landed inbounds if Wallace didnt touch it. Should have been caught with his hands instead of trying to craddle it in his gut like he always does.

I like Winston as the top QB in the class, but I would have to say Mariota would fit this offense perfectly. However, if Tannehill does poorly enough that we are drafting a 1st Rd QB then that means Philibin and likely/possibly Lazor are both gone and who knows what type of offense we would be running at that point

i get that...i'm just not sure he's true pro style offense qb...i'd be more inclined to run spread with him...and of course he's gonna run really well...he should be alright as long as he doesnt run to contact...which would ruin him...i dont get the sense that's what he's about though

as for the bills game stuff to see how i matched up with yours havent had a chance yet...

I'm not excusing Wallace. Almost any WR in the NFL makes catches like what Wallace made. Yes it was a great catch, but WR in the league make great catches all the time, albeit less frequently then the great WR.
I'm just mentioning it's more on Tannehill then Wallace. I'm not absolving Wallace of the blame. But more often then not on these passes, it's Wallace slowing down so the ball can catch up to him. Not Wallace dropping a pass thrown in stride, or dropping a pass he had ot make a small adjustment for.

His TDs catches against the Pats and the Bills were both outstanding. He also runs tough after the catch. My biggest knocks are the body catching and the lack of sideline awareness. Maybe they will improve.

I just don't like the true spread offense. It makes your defense softer up front. I like how Seattle sprinkles it in with their west coast offense and ZBS though.

You know what, you might be right about the panic thing. I remember thinking that at times during his throws that I thought was a slam dunk TD.

I didnt see it myself, but someone else posted that they noticed RT jumping up n down in anticipation of a long ball catch. If that's true...that's just not good. That shows he wasnt confident as the ball left his grip. Concerning to say the least!

Again, we can't assume a perfectly placed ball will be caught. we've seen plenty of drops on those passes, too

I wasn't assuming it would have been caught. Hartline very well could have still dropped it. However, at that point, not a single person would or could realistically have put any blame on Tannehill for the placement. The fact remains that if it was thrown a few yards further it should be an easy walk-in TD. Even if Hartline had actually caught the pass the way it was thrown, there is no saying he would have scored. He easily could have fallen to the ground right there or gotten tackled just short. Again, not blaming Tannehill for the throw as much as Hartline for dropping what was a very catchable pass, but even still, it should have been better thrown with no safety over the top.

I think Hartline has about 5drops in 2 games. thinking he has his mind on other things.
