Beam Me Up Outa Here!

ditto Henne and Orton

running the gamut from bullishness over 1 or 2 exhibition games and “hold on, it was against Buffalo” to “I’ve learned not to be taken in by exhibition performances when I’ve watched 2 years of fail” to Orton’s getting a bad rap, it was his supporting cast... and course "Quinn or Tebow/Moore should start."

IN other words: be careful what you wish for.

Not something I wanted to say / Orton looked good (Merged) (posts from the last 24 hours)

Orton actually looked impressive. Good for you Mr. Daniels, you keep playing like that and you may turn some Tebow homers into believers!
Big ups to the defense too. They look good.

lols it's against the bills in pre season. Let's calm down there bro.

orton did have a nice game

Why do Broncos fans hate it when our starting QB plays well? Geez...

He always looks good when there is zero pressure.

Orton did look very good ...but his wimpiness falling down still insanely pisses me off ...and BUF ain't exactly a good defense, so I'm still hesitant, but he did look good
Rooting for Quinn to start now as Tebow has no chance but liked what I saw from Orton for sure

Here's a better idea: root for the best QB to start, regardless of who the heck it is.

Orton will start ...and I rooted for Quinn over Orton cuz when we play teams who can actually apply pressure, I.prefer a qb who doesn't sack himself

If Orton's never behind, has to make third down completions, or make plays in the red zone, he's a great QB ;-)
That being said, While Kyle has made it impossible for me to root for him, I will never root against a Bronco.

Whats wrong with be excited about our QB performing at a high level?

Would you rather him go 3-15, 75 yards, 2 INT's?

Im not a Orton fan but I am a Broncos fan and if he is the best QB for this team this season then I will give him my support!

Cant believe all the Orton haters. Will enjoy the crow being eaten this year

Oh come on we all want Orton to succeed. We just do not expect him produce when he needs to, based on his 6 years in the league.

Exactly. The Bills are an NFL team; they don't play at the collegiate level. Our offense looks good, our defense looks good. I'm pretty excited for the regular season!

I am too, no matter who the starting QB is. Yes I have my preferred QB, but as long as we are winning, then I'm excited about the Broncos.

How susceptible can people be?

This is a yearly repeat!

Orton always performs well. Why do fans expect him to fail and then when he plays a good game, think we have the answer at quarterback?

Playing at a high level has never been the issue with Orton! His problems are almost 100% situational.

EACH YEAR:

Step 1) Orton looks hot
Step 2) Fans are confident in him
Step 3) Orton regresses in crucial moments
Step 4) Orton gets hurt
Step 5) Fans want Orton gone

Repeat the cycle.

Orrin was good last preseason, and Lloyd caught everything and the flu.... The real evidence will be when D are blitzing, or we are playing from behind, or about game 11 when Orton tend to level off in production. He played well against a D that was not good last year, and has Benny mediocre sine 2003

I already gave him a chance, I was an avid supporter of his up until mid season last year and ive seen enough. I do agree hes the best we have, but we dont have much.

I just wish Kyle wouldn't fold whne he feels pressure. It like Dareus used the force to sack him tonight he had a blocker in between him and Orton. Credit Kyle with the assist on the sack... I hate it when he does that, at least slide instead of crumpling up in a ball...

or throw the ball away, his eyes were in the pocket nowhere downfield and he wasnt thinking about getting rid of the ball. just staring at the ground wondering where a good place to take a nap would be

Orton will do this from time to time, he can throw. Just remind yourself what he has done the past 2 years.

People have their faults.

Tebow did a similar thing today.

If theres one thing you can't fix with orton, it's that. He feels that he's gonna get sacked so he doesn't wanna risk throwing a pick or fumbling so he just goes down. Not a terrible thing to do but as a fan of the game you want him to do more. I understand that and I agree. But... thats orton.

It's surprising how many people find it surprising that Orton can play well. The dude has put up some good numbers for us.

The big knock on Orton is his 3rd-down and red zone play. Well, it looks like we might have a defense and a running game. This is his chance to show whether or not he can be the man when those excuses are no longer there. I hope he does!

This is true and why I'm not all crazy about him yet, but I have drawn a conclusion after tonight that Orton is our starter, so we better just learn to like it cuz that's not changing...Here's to me hoping he can play strong this year and actually FINISH a damn game....can't stand the guy but I'm rootin for my Broncos to win on Sunday no matter what...

Don't want him back next year though, unless obviously major improvments under pressure this year (which like I said, I ain't holdin' my breath on yet)

That one preseason game against the Bills of all teams doesn't change a trend that's been apparent over the last two years.

Anyway I thought glorified scrimmages against terrible teams didn't really count?

I have never wished I could give neg cp more... You must be the worst kind of fan, how in the worl would this be something you do not want to say?

Our starting QB played well!

This is no Broncos fan, I hope you consistently live in disappointment throughout the season even if we go to the playoffs or superbowl.

Pretty sure you can use your common sense to disect a playoff game.

OBviouslly it isn't a reg season game, but when it is 1s on 1s in the beginning you certainly can tell a lot about your team, playcalling, scheme, execution.

Hardly fair to act like Orton was playing against some experimental defense that let him tear it up.

Common sense, and preseason can be meaningful

Neckbeard doesn't think glorified scrimmages against terrible teams mean anything.

One thing I did notice that is different about Orton and his play this year so far...there were quite a few plays where he rolled out and threw the ball down field.

Now, he wasn't very fast, and I hated that sack he took...but I liked those plays. That was something I don't recall seeing a lot.

If he has elevated his game more and strengthened some of his weaknessess, then he will be a better QB and Denver will win some games this year, which I think is a good goal to have.

I also liked what Quinn did last night. If Orton goes down, I think Quinn could step in and play not fall off significantly.

its just more evidence that a team wants to look good in front of their home crowd in preseason, particularly when this crappy offseason made fans pissed off and not buying tickets.

seriously. have a prediction for you. Buffalo will look really good this coming week at home in front of fans.

we sucked vs. atlanta away and looked great at home vs. carolina. coincidence? not really.

one diff between us and them though, and that is new personnell on offense and new OC with new offense. The diff in henne this year will be the system and talent around him with the OC to put it together. all we have to do is put up 20+ points IMO. we did that vs. carolina in first half while sucking the entire first qtr clock. that is the key. great defense. TOP. no turnovers. score TD's instead of FG = W

EXACTLY. Everyone on this board is always criticizing other Dolphin fans saying they "aren't real fans" and "we have the worst fans in the league" bla bla bla nonsense. It isn't a Dolphin fan behavior, it's FAN behavior. It's HUMAN behavior. You guys have to start getting used to reality and get over it. People will have a different perspective than you. It doesn't make them any less of a fan.

Is that an admission that what you way is purely to stir up controversy?

As hard as it might be to understand, that when it comes to the fans that know these QBs best, there are some self-perceived "realists" laboring under the unrealistic delusion that 80-90% of the Fins fan base is smarter than 80-90% of The Broncos' fan base. Go know :idk:

I would say 80% of both fanbases thinks Orton sucks and 90% of both fanbases thinks Henne sucks.

That was funny

Wow these nuts want Brady Quinn to start lol

So this tells me that the Bronc fans would be laughing themselves silly if we had given up a 2nd for Orton. Well I am happy not to be a laughing stock regardless about how everyone may feel about Henne.
