Which team underperformed more, the 2004 Dolphins or the 2005 Dolphins.

Many said we were a better team than our record last year. So that is underperformance. Many say we could have a better record this year so that is underperformance. Bates did great things with the team last year, Saban has done wonders and we have a stronger team this year, but a new system. Some feel we have over performed this year and that they expected worse.

Any feeling on this as an overall grade.

Well this year we have a rookie head coach and a new coaching staff. Last year the only thing that was missing was Ricky, even though when he retired a lot of people knew we were in trouble, there was still more hope than there was this year.

So you think 2004 we underperformed more?

yes, definately. No one is expecting much with a rookie coaching staff.

However there have been many improvements. And at least 50% of the fans here predicted more than 5 or 6 wins. Many said 8-8, some even more, lots of 7-9 and 9-7, so it is a bit shy of what many thought.

This road game will be very interesting. A lose might really irk some fans and give an underperformance feeling. A win pushes it your way. It is a big weekend for me since I will be watching with a Browns fan.

Also, at times last year we looked like we should have been playing on Friday nights instead of on Sundays. This year we have basically been in every game. Even though our record is not great, this year you get the feeling that this team is close to being a much better team. Last year, so many things were going wrong it was hard to see us looking decent anytime soon.

They haven't underperformed this year, they've simply shot themselves in the foot again and again. They just haven't been lucky if you want to call it that.

right its' still an open question to me. At this same point in time last year I say '04 team was a bigger disappointment. But the last 6 games we went 3-3 and finished strong. If the 05' continues it's current preformance my vote will go to this years team...

I think we did underperform more last year as for this year we should just wait until the end of the season before making any evaluation.

It is a big weekend for me since I will be watching with a Browns fan.

The Browns have fans?!!!!!!!!!

Gee I thought we still had like 7 more games to play? Am I wrong on this?

Honestly

In 2004

we had no line, no rb, a crap scheme a coahc that didnt wanna be there

so many injuries, thomas, seau, fiedler, gordon, boston, chester and bowens
and we won 4 games and stayed in alot of games

This year evey game we dont move the ball and have trouble defensivly

I called 6-10 I believe in the offseason. Still got a good shot at hitting that to.

Progress and a solid draft pick ;p

I had 6-10 also. I'm kind of worried about that now. Of course I was foolish enough to think Saban would go with Feeley

Even though we've had chances to win just about every game we've played and came up short more often than not, I wouldn't say we underachieved this year. This team is rebuilding which seems to be forgotten by spoiled Dolphin fans. It's gonna be a couple years.
