This roster is filled with players that we dont expect to much from. Yet every year at least one player steps up to have a solid year. This year we seem to have a lot of options.
My guess is Earl Mitchell I believe he led the team in tackles for loss last year and expect much of the same this year.
What about you guys? Who steps up to become a reason for success?

This is going to be Koa Misi's breakout year... Because Suh.

For all that is good in this world, I hope its Billy Turner. Our OG play was trash last year.

I think Brice McCain will be a nice surprise for us. A bit of an under the radar signing that will pay very nice dividends for us.

I may be wrong, but I think Suh makes alot of other people look better. I remember how all-world Zach Thomas looked with Tim Bowens and Darryl Gardner there in the middle. And if the D-line is good, it makes the DB's look good because they don't have to cover for as long.

I know this is off-topic, but oh how I miss those days. Gardner and Bowens were monsters in the middle. Ranked #1 rush D year after year. It was impossible to run the ball up the middle.:)

Back on topic: I expect Chris McCain and Derrick Shelby to take that big leap this year. I'm hoping Billy Turner and Jamar Taylor will take a step forward too.

Derrick Shelby. We need him to step up, it's a contract year for him too. He's not a great athlete, but has a relentless motor and the ability to play every position but nose along the line.

I think mccain and jamar taylor are your highest ceiling potential break out candidates of the guys that had decent reps last year...maybe one of those dts we redshirted fills the 4th dt role admirably...and billy turner has very high potential although he may be miscast

It would be big for miami if mccain played a solid solb...hes the potential swing player in the lb core

im intrigued on whom may emerge as well... lots of youth that has to show!!! lots of holes we need to fill as well. i cant wait to see how it all folds together (or not)... but hopefully we have a plethora of players emerging 2015!!!

I believe the OP said "unexpected".

For me that player is Jordan Tripp. There are only Maybe 3 of us on here talking about him. Had he not been injured early on, he would have been the MLB last year. The coaches were grooming him for just that and was looking good in camp.

Misi wasnt the answer at mlb and wont be this year. This year, we do have Hull and a couple others who could provide good competition but i think Tripp stands up and wins the MLB spot.

Rookie Bobbie McCain wins a spot on the starting team either across from grimes or the nickle spot.
