the rest of the season for us. I think there was an outside shot that even if we didn't win every remaining game we'd have a shot at the playoffs. Jacksonville, KC and us, if we won a lot of games would be in the race for the wildcard spots.

So, fortunately or unfortunately, the KC game will definitely determine whether we have a prayer. If we played anyone else that wasn't in our division, we'd still have a shot even if we lost. If we lose to KC it'll be over. It will be virtually impossible for us to finish the season with a better record than them and we'd lose the tiebreak.

I'm discounting the Jets and Cinci in this scenario as well. I'm assuming that if we go 9-7 on the season or win em all, neither Cinci nor the Jets will have the same or better record than us.

Looking strictly from a talent point of view and focusing on the fact that Carson Palmer isn't close to 100%, I don't think either Jacksonville, the Jets or Cinci are any more talented than we are and I think the Jets and Cinci are probably less talented. Our offense should be better than Jacksonvilles strictly from a talent point of view.

So if the coaches can keep their heads out of their buttocks and prepare the team well we've still got a slim, outside, slight, weak shot at making the playoffs. If we make the playoffs and DC is healthy and the Defense isn't burnt, we'll win the superbowl (focusing on the positives here).

we can't be thinking playoffs, just try to win a game at a time and if we have a shot in week 16 than we can think about the postseason but as a two win team we can't

I agree that this game will determine whether or not the Dolphins have any chance the rest of the season. That is why it is so important to take it one game at a time. Miami was a 3-7 mess last year, and was able to turn it around and didn't get elimnated from the play-offs until the next-to-last week of the season. I'm trying not to get too optimistic at the moment, considering how well KC has played recently.....but then again, perhaps they are due for a letdown. We'll see what happens.

why dont we just focuse on the next 3...not the rest of the season...the next 3...when we win or loose the next three THEN our we can start talking play off...not a minute before...beating KC with a sub par defense will not necessrily be THE test...but the next 3

I think it would take a miracle for us to make the playoffs at this point but hey some folks said it would take a miracle for us to beat the Bears as well. I think the most important thing the rest of this year is to build some consistency on offense find a gameplan that works and get everyone familiar with winning again so that we don't come out of the gate again next year like we have the past 2 seasons.

Every week is Do or Die ... We can not afford to past the next opponent.

9-7 would still give us a better than average shot but not if the one loss is against KC. I'm not looking ahead. I'm saying that we'd still have a shot if we lost to anyone else that wasn't in our division or KC. We lose to KC they'll wind up with the same or better record than us even if we win all the rest of our games. We don't beat them in a tiebreak with the same record if we've lost to them.

Funny, before the jets game i thought we could win enough games(figuring to WIN over the jets and packers) to go 10-6, or 9-7, counting LOSING to the bears, and I got KILLED. Now, after going 1-2 in those games, rather than 2-1 all anyone wants to talk about is how we can make the playoffs, based on beating the bears. What gives?

i SERIOUSLY DOUBT WE WOULD GET IN WITH A 9-7 RECORD, i DOUBT EVEN MORE THERE'S ANY WAY WE GET TO 9-7, JUST NOT LIKELY. wAY TOO PREMATURE AT 2-6 WITH ONLY 1 WIN IN A ROW, (oops, caps lock on) to even be thinking about getting into the playoffs. We win 1 game and you're worrying about getting into the playoffs?

Wish I were so oblivious to reality.

Not to be a downer, Im a Chiefs fan @ 5-3 and we arent even thinking we can make the playoffs...

Miami has to go 8-0 the rest of the way to finish 10-6... 10-6 this year will need tie breakers to get into the playoffs in the AFC... Not sure you can pull it off... with a schedule of

KC - Good chance of winning this game (back to back road games for KC)
Jaguars - Not sure
Patriots - Not sure you can pull this one off...
@Bills - Concern Road game...
@Colts - Depends if they are still fighting for homefield...

exactly my point, get playoffs out of your heads. if we win the next 4 games than okay maybe at 6-6 but not right now. take it a game at a time

I believe in miracles didn't it take a miracle for the Steelers to do what they did last season, Winning 8 games and being a wild card team to win the Super Bowl?

Lets take it one game at a time

If we win the rest of our games to end 10-6 we have a very good shot at the playoffs, but can we really run off 8 more games in a row? Thats very tough to do.

"Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? No, nothing's over until we say it's over. Who's with me?"

I guess all you can say at this point, is that Miami loses vs KC, you have no shot at the playoffs... and it will be like that for the rest of the season in every game you play... 9-7 wont do it...
