USA will be in the same group as Guatamala, El Salvador and Trinidad and Tobago. Unfortunately for me, they didn't draw in Group A...so they won't be playing here in South Florida which is what I was hoping for so I could go see them live in Action....

Group A, the group that is mostly played in 305's Orange Bowl consists of Guadeloupe, Canada, Costa Rica and Haiti. Haiti should have a hugeeeeeeeeee following in this zone...I'd consider them a home team.

And Group C consists of the other Gold Cup Favorites, Mexico as well as Cuba, Honduras and Panama, who reached the finals last time against the US.

Should be interesting.....

If we don't win this... I would fire Hugo Sanchez before that plane gets back to Mexico... and then I would call the Netherlands, and beg Ronald Koeman to coach the team, I'd do more than beg, I would plead, I would donate money just to get Koeman in Mexico...

Hugo has to win the Gold Cup, no excuses, I am sorry, we might have been beat by the US a lot lately, but it is our responsability to win the Concacaf every ****ing time, not doing it is a failure, there is no other way around it. We got to win this.

Having said that, we are getting out of the group stage no problem, Us is getting out of the group stage no problem, and those poor fans in Florida are going to bore themselves to death with those teams...

Costa Rica isn't that bad...and Hugo Sanchez won't get fired If they don't win the Gold Cup (unless they don't get past the Group Stage) just because of the Copa America that follows a few weeks later. If he does poorly in both, then I can see him gettin canned.

It's called wishful thinking... I am wishfully hoping that he gets canned, and we get Koeman... I want Koeman so bad.

Ah yes, the nearly irrelevant Gold Cup (though it does matter in the rankings and in determining seeding at the WC). Really, the US and Mexico must push for unification of CONCACAF and CONMEBOL. This North American stuff (with only two serious players) is not helping either.

Oh, and the US better either win or beat Mexico (either is fine )

Why does this one not rotate the spot where it is held, it is always in the US... I mean not that I would like to have the team travel to El Salvador... but I really don't understand why is it that it is always held in the US?Gives you an unfair advantage as far as I can tell

Yeah, it's an unfair advantage. Honestly, I don't know why it's always in the US. If you find out, please tell.

Unfair? The stadiums in which Mexico usually plays are usually Mexican oriented...so I don't think that should be an issue.

US has the better stadiums to host this type of event is my guess and since the US is so diverse they have it here. I mean how many Americans, Mexicans, Canadians etc. would travel to Panama for the Gold Cup

It's unfair because we don't get to play you in Azteca where we OWN you!!!

And you seem to be right, it does have to do with the presence of immigrants in the states. Although it also seems to have something to do with how much Politics in the region are controled by USsoccer (the FEMEXFUT has been famous for being utter idiots in dealing with CONCACAF)

True, but playing in LA is also giving you Home Field Advantage. Not as much as Azteca (I've watched a game in that Stadium...simply amazing) but it is still a Home Field Advantage for you guys. It isn't like no matter where US plays they have the majority of the crowd on their side.

The political side could be true, but I think it has to do more with the immigrants. Like I said, you'd see half empty stadiums in a Gold Cup match in other countries like Guatemala and co. Just wouldn't work. The locations chosen for the Gold Cup are chosen for a purpose, and are chosen thoughtfully and carefully.

Wouldn't be so sure about that, I don't particularly trust CONCACAF to think things out thoughtfully and Carefully, I am pretty sure we are like the dumbest group in all of FIFA.
