Here are some tidbits from the article:
It has been 10 years since Tony Sparano was based in Connecticut, but New Haven is still in his blood.
So when he returns to his hometown this weekend, he'll see many old acquaintances. And he'll try to visit the street New Haven is known for.
Sparano will be honored by the University of New Haven as a distinguished alumnus during the school's Scholarship Ball tonight. Sparano played football at UNH and was later an assistant coach before becoming head coach in 1994.
He left UNH for the NFL in 1999 and was hired by Bill Parcells as Miami coach in January. It's a long way from his career as an offensive lineman at UNH, when he only dreamed of becoming an NFL coach.
"I couldn't imagine being in the place I'm in now at the time, but obviously I always hoped," Sparano said on a conference call Friday. "Most kids think about playing in the National Football League. Well, God didn't bless me that way, so I thought about coaching in the National Football League and becoming a head coach at some point."

I left this building [Thursday] night at 11:45. We're deep into meetings right now and we're trying to do everything we can to be better. So the job is everything that I thought it would be."
