D-mac ran an unofficial 40 at 4.27 secs and then an official at 4.33 secs... can someone please tell me what the hell is the difference between unofficial timing and official timing... thanks

According to the NFL itself, D-mac ran a 4.33 (Official)

Yeah the combine has a motion sensor and the clock automatically starts when it detects movement. Then at the end there is a string and once the string is broken the clock stops. The unofficial is some scouts with a stop watch.

Because They need to review the run to actually see when they started and when they finished their run. It allows a more accurate timing.
