1st overall draft pick
New England Patriots trade

The #7 overall pick (New England Patriots)
Hobbs, Ellis CB 520,000
Meriweather, Brandon FS/CB 370,000
4th round pick (127th overall) New England Patriots

to Miami for

#1 Overall pick (Miami)
4th round (#97 overall pick)

you both should feel dirty for that.

Nothing of the sort! There's a reason Ellis Hobbles is the most hated CB on the Pats (and this was PRIOR to the SB), and there's a reason I traded him though I watched him through college (ISU baby). I've got a plan, as much as it hurts to say it...the Pats are gonna roll you guys.

Yea, I dont get that one..

Palmer >>> Garrard

CJ >>>>> Jones

Therefore, Bengals = Jaguars???

Just doesnt make sense.. Most lopsided trade yet

The Pats/Fins trade is an interesting one.

Two starters and a swap of the first and fourths looks lopsided, but seriously I could have gotten a deal just about equal of that with most teams.

I'm an objective GM here, so being a pats fan will have nothing to do with my moves and such. Besides now the Pats have the same flexibility I have to parlay the 1st overall to so much more.

Here's how I look at it. I don't see it as super lopsided as most do.

Carson Palmer is a 2nd tier QB. David Garrard is a 3rd tier QB propelling into 2nd tier QB status. Chad Johnson wants out... I'm sure the Bengals FO would take a 3rd round selection for Ocho-Cinco. Then Matt Jones was added to sweeten it up.

Palmer and Ocho-Cino account for over 10 million dollars. That'll probably be nearly 1/6 of the cap space, for 2 players. Garrard and Jones? 2.5 million together. They're saving a lot of cap space.

It depends on how you look at it.

hah well i didnt know johnson and palmer were costing that much, but...

while the noles are my main college team, ive followed ecu for awhile now and have been a fan of garrards since he came in the league...but id rather have palmer. garrard is coming into his own as a qb, but eh...

and jones, well i dont have interest in him. i liked him when he was drafted and figured hed be a good player, but he hasnt shown anything other than trouble getting on the field.

all I can figure is he meant Jones-Drew, not Matt Jones.....or we let that 12 year old back in the league...I guess he'd be 15 or 16 now.

I thought I Polo and Foote deal was much more lopsided than the Jags and Bengals trade.

DJ Williams is a good young LB, but I don't think Selvin Young and a 5th really made it worthwhile. Young could easily be Olandis Gary
