Unsigned players will practice in mini-camp

The Dolphins will have the services of their three unsigned restricted free agents for Cam Cameron's first minicamp as coach.

Sources said Monday that free safety Yeremiah Bell, punter Donnie Jones and quarterback Cleo Lemon will sign an injury waiver to participate in the five practices set for Friday to Sunday at Dolphins headquarters in Davie

Lemon is our only healthy QB and he is unsigned ? We only have 6 OL signed.
Is Cam a riverboat gambler ?

Is mini-camp open to the public ? Is anyone going.

Lemon is unsigned by his choice. I think I heard some time ago that the Dolphins are trying to sign him to a long term contract.

Cam a riverboat gambler? I hope so, atleast at times. The first two mini-camps I believe are in shorts and helmets so you don't really need a full compliment of players.

Lemon the only healthy QB on out team is just another thing that points to us taking a QB with one of our first three picks.

Wow i cant believe we have not signed him up yet.

Is it open to the public then finally?? If it is then yea I will def. be there Sat.

So far this offseason has been a joke. A riverboat gambler implies someone who's going for a high risk / high reward proposition. Where's the high reward? This whole scenario seems pretty clueless. Why don't we all go to minicamp, sign waivers and tryout?

sounds good .... where do I sign up?? lol

To sign Lemon to a long term contract they are going to have to put a lot of incentives in it. As it is right now he is the only healhty QB on the roster so he figures he has a shot at starting. Why would he sign a long term contract for a low salary when he feels he could become the starter on this team. Either that or there will have to be an opt out clause in case he feels he is not getting adequately compensated for his level of play in the future. The only way he signs a long term deal without options or incentives is if he is content with being a career backup, which I am betting he isn't.

The incentive for these guys to be at Minicamp is to earn a starting job. They don't want the guys that they will be competing with to have a leg up on the competition. Well except for Donnie Jones, because as far as I know, I don't think we have another Punter in camp. But I am sure that all three of these guys want to impress the new coach.
