Untold story of Dolphins second team offensive line

Blame has to go to Irleand also and who knows what he thought

Dlockz get with the program. Good players are attributed to Ireland...bad players are blamed on Parcells. I thought you knew that...

Blame has to go to Irleand also and who knows what he thought

But but but Ireland didn't have FULL control until this year. It's not FAIR to blame him!! Maybe someone should make a YouTube video hahaha.

Thing is though, Sparano is such an incredible drain on the cumulative intellect of any room he is in or sideline he is on, I'm almost willing to give Ireland the benefit of the doubt on some of the recent busts, especially Thomas and Gates. Parcells was full of it too, his "system" was/is trash.

we'd rather have Jimmy Grahm than Thomas, Jerry, Gates, Misi, Sean Smith, Pats White and Turner combined. That's just sad and pathetic

Update: Im told UDFA rookie G Josh Samuda has been receiving reps at the Center position dating back to OTAs. Told Samuda has been the backup Center almost all week ( I personally know he has seen reps the last two days as the backup Center), they add Samuda has a lot of qualities Philbin covets for his line (speed, power, athleticism & a mean streak).

Samuda is obviously pushing for the back up Center role on the Fins roster. If Samuda were to succeed in making the roster it would more than likely spell the end of veteran C Ryan CooK who has been relegated to the third team Oline & is making $1 million this season (a bit expensive is you ask me).

This is often what you get when you get a new coach in, he has no personal affiliation for any of the players of the previous regime. Jerry definitely gone, Murtha too injury prone and Garner bit disappointed in tbh. Samuda a few people have been hailing on here since the draft so hope he does well. Getting Hicks was probably a good thing because with the lack of experience elsewhere having him there should benefit the line.

Seriously, you ought to have one of the jobs at the local newspapers. This is a really good combination of observation and storyline. Well done!

With the exception of "Looks like the UDFA rookie has 'catched' the coaches eyes'.

One thing I've noticed a lot from some writers and Omar is the worst, is the sub standard level of English... it's quite shocking sometimes that these are paid journalists.

Hey ho... back to football.

Good post - the coaches seem to know what they want and if you don't fit their prototype they demote you down the pecking order very quickly.

Thanks for the info, FinAtic.

Like basically everyone else, I am not surprised Murtha's hurt again but I am surprised that he is set to make that much money. He's a goner.

I've always liked Garner from the limited playing time we've seen out of him so it is a bit disappointing that he's with the 3rd team.

And speaking of disappointing: John Jerry. Dude's toast.

Murtha had absolutely no limp at today's scrimmage he was the 2nd team LT. Samuda continues to be the backup Center & looked good doing it, he has a nice mean streak to him. Samuda saw a ton of snaps today, he took all snaps at the backup Center position & filled in as the 3rd team RG, he was barely off the field. As for Garner & Cook both been moved to the 3rd team OL, Garner played LG & Cook at C.

Josh Samuda has been on my short list of UDFAs that will make the team since he signed.

I tweeted about him claiming the backup Center job I think a month ago. When I heard that, I knew then he's making the roster.

All three deserve the blame as its a team effort. Same with this years draft. Heavily influenced by Philbin with the final say by Ireland.

Nice job putting that together Robi.

It's looks like Murtha is going to be the swing tackle. With having Samuda, Hicks and possible Murtha as the backups, who else along the O-Line looks like they can make the team as a backup; if Miami keeps 9/10 O-Linemen?

Hicks has been 1st team this whole time...he could get demoted but they seem to stress chemistry so probably not. Samuda is valuable because he can play center and guard..while Murtha can play both tackle positions. Steinbach can play both guard positions I believe and think he is a lock to make the team. So that would be 8 lineman right there....the Indiana rookie (i forget his name) seems to be getting a lot of reps at 2nd team RT so he could be a possibility. I think Jerry, Garner, and Cook are all in trouble.
