Upcoming cuts?

Shouldn’t we be expecting some cuts like today? The upcoming legal tampering period starts at 9:00 pm tonight west coast time. I thought we would be creating more cap space by now. There are some obvious cuts that should be cut ASAP.

PS Giants just released DRC.
 
Possibly- teams will exhaust trade options first, so MIA might hold still a little longet- have till the 14th be under the cap.

Thomas and Timmons are gone, no one is trading for them, so that will get us under the cap. I imagine any other cap space we clear, we would look to do so through trades, think Pouncey/James/Wake. Can't imagine cutting bait with any of those guys and getting no compensation in return.
I keep reading about cutting Suh, but I just don't see how it's possibly worth it if it only clears 4 million in space prior to June 1st. Post- June 1st cuts are overrated.

Wake would hurt for sure, but he isn't expensive and still productive...easy to trade.
Pouncey...injury prone...maybe the Giants would take him off our hands.
James...young guy...I've heard Denver, but I really don't know.
 
Tampering window starts tomorrow 12:00pm est.

“Let the (legal) tampering begin: Starting at 12 p.m. ET on March 12, teams can begin negotiating with players who are set to hit free agency. Players can’t officially sign with a new team until the 2018 league year begins on March 14. But LOL, come on, that’s just a formality.”
 
Like others said, Thomas / Timmons are essentially worthless in a trade, so why not cut them now?

Can we get ANYTHING for Pouncey? If so move on from him

I'd extend James to lower his cap hit

After making those 4 moves I would see where we are at cap wise before doing anything with Wake. (and RT and Suh being moved are so unlikely, so these seem to be about it)
 
This off-season has been the weirdest in a while for me.

Miami can maybe cut/trade/restructure ...Suh,Pouncy,Wake,James,Branch

Not sure why they would get rid of one of the best pass rushers in the game at that price. Wake, Quinn, Harris, and Branch (despite his drop off last year) is a pretty good rotation, allowing the younger pass rusher to continue gaining more pro experience without having to be completely reliant on it. How would we use the $8m in savings better?

Why not continue to try until the last minute to get at least a 7th rounder? What benefit is there to cutting right now other than appeasing people who spend way too much time on overthecap.com?

I get that, but be realistic here, who is giving even a 7th for julius thomas or lawrence timmons?

Pouncey I could see getting something for though

It's 12 pm tomorrow, so 9 am on the west coast. Not that it matters much, but it's not tonight.

Who knows. Why wouldn't you try? What is the benefit of cutting right now or yesterday? There is none.
 
I can’t imagine Tannenbaum getting anything for Pouncey. Maybe a thank-you note if he finally decides to cut him.

I suppose. You see other teams cutting guys held in a higher regard (such as DRC just today) not like its some unheard of thing
