Berlin Thunder vs Hamburg Sea Devils
clear.gif
Berlin's defensive backs break up a Hamburg pass. (waynepaulo.com) Two of Berlin's quarterbacks posted perfect numbers as Lang Campbell (Cleveland Browns) connected on 4 of 4 passes for 44 yards and B.J. Symons (Chicago Bears) was 4 of 4 for 55 yards. Derek Farmer (San Diego Chargers) was leading rusher with 7 attempts for 26 yards, while Fred Staton (Pittsburgh Steelers) went into the endzone from 7 yards. C.J. Jones (Seattle Seahawks) caught 3 passes for 40 yards.
Brock Berlin (Miami Dolphins) completed 4 of 6 passes for 35 yards, with James Kilian (Kansas City Chiefs) connecting on 3 of 5 passes for 57 yards. Nate Curry (Kansas City Chiefs) had 5 receptions for 50 yards, while Keith Wright posted two sacks for the Sea Devils.

It seems that only Brock Berlin was putting up highlights during the scrimmages. It seems as if Brock Berlin is going to be the starting QB for the Sea Devils thus far.

Awesome.

Hope he does well over there.

Best of luck to Brock, no matter what you think of him as a player, he is a good person, and I wish him all the best.

(I knew him off the field when he played at the UM and he is one of the best people you could ever know -- respectful and courteous, not full of himself in the least)

I hope Brock can make our team next year.

when does the nfl europe season start

Regardless if he will be starter for the Seadevils he will play, as the NFL Europe has this stupid system that most coaches switch QBs at half time. Or even after each quarter. Drives me nuts

why would it drive you nuts. all the players are sent over their to develope.......how are any going to develope while sitting on the bench? They need to give everyone playing time.

Based soley on those numbers, the other guy looked just as good, if not better. Look at the yards per attempt......Berlin's is under 6, while the other's is over 10. It's a small number of attempts to work with, but I think they favor the other QB.

Drives me nuts because I pay for seeing a team compete and not to see an extended training camp. I do go to games as I live over here in Duesseldorf. Iam wondering if you have ever seen a NFL Europe game. As they only have so much limited time to prepare and get to know each other the first few games are offense wise just a pain. Passes get over thrown, receivers do not know their routes, O-line does not know what the guy next to one does and so on.
And switching your team general does not help. This whole crap started about 3-4 years ago. Before then - when Warner, Damon Huard etc played - there was one starting QB and that`s it. Now the NFL forces the teams to let every QB play (or at least two). That might be understandable from the NFL`s point of view but it is a betrayal of the European fan. And if you can not beat out a guy on the NFL Europe`s roster you won`t make it in the NFL anyhow.

I would bet the passes get overthrown because most of the QBs there stink. Our starting QB seemed to have a problem with overthrows as I recall.

All the Sea Devils need to do is put Brock in the shotgun for every play and they'll take home the title! But if they put him under center..... hey anyone wanna go check out a Hamburg soccer match? ;)
