The Des Moines Register’s Randy Peterson has confirmed that offensive coordinator Ken O’Keefe is leaving the Iowa football program.

The Gazette is reporting that Iowa offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Ken O'Keefe will be joining the Dolphins' staff.

Philbin was a player for Worcester Academy in the 70s and the staff of that team included Mike Sherman and O'Keefe. Iowa fans seem to be ecstatic that O'Keefe is leaving, so take that as you want.

And we have people here crying about "Ireland/Sparano hiring people they only know through Dallas/Parcells". Newsflash, everyone hires people they are close to/know.

Another Philbin/O'Keefe connection. Philbin was the OC for Allegheny College and O'Keefe was the head coach in the 90s.

Even if some of these guys have connections to Philbin and/or Sherman, I like the fact they didn't all come to us from the same team.....they're all coming from different places and I think that's a good thing. They have learnt from different coaches and different programs unlike the last regime that all came from the same place.

Ozzy rules!!

Okeefe got bad rap from some Hawkeye fans that wanted spread offense but Iowa will always be pro style offense team while Ferentz is in charge and that is his liking not necessarily O'Keefe choice. He always did an awesome with Iowa's QB and got more out them than anyone would think he could. He is a gret choice

Iowa fans are glad to see him leave as O-Coordinator. Big difference there from calling plays to coaching one specific position. I think he will be fine.
