From John Clayton on ESPN.com:

Harrington update Expect Lions quarterback Joey Harrington to push for a trade to the Dolphins very soon. Harrington has verbally agreed to a contract, and even though the Broncos would like him to make a visit, Harrington seems to be insistent about going to Miami. Lions president Matt Millen wants a third- or fourth-round choice for Harrington, and that would be completely out of the question if Harrington goes to Miami. The Dolphins are offering only a sixth-rounder next year. Harrington believes Millen won't stand in the way of letting him go to his team of choice. Things should start picking up soon.

sweet.. another piece to the puzzle. I love he wants to come here. he would be an excellent back up. Better than our last few starters.

Man I want to get excited.....But Ive been hurt many times before.....With Harrington and Arrington....Im vulnerable....Ya Dig?

It sounds like it is not a done deal yet! However, the news is a little more promising that Miami will land Harrington in a trade before the draft.

It's also nice when a player wants to play here that badly.

The Lions are going to have to realize that some value is better than no value.

Intresting, maybe throwing a **** fit will pressure Millen into lowering the asking price.

The only part that makes me nervous is how stupid/stubborn Matt Millen can be.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isnt Harrington owed a roster bonus in June. The Lions have to cut or trade him to avoid from paying that.

Waiting until June to sign a QB who might be called upon to play in September is not enough time....He needs to be in these OTA's and upcoming minicamps.......I think this guy if prepared properly will be a pretty decent QB in Miami.

i feel ya' more then you'll know

Denver just traded their second first round pick to San Fran, for the 49ers second and third round picks. Who knows; this could be Denver's way to angle their way into meeting Millen's demands for the Harrington trade. We'll see what happens.

Yes, he is due a 4 million dollar roster bonus in June. I think what you see is the Lions trying to play a little hardball. They are just trying to see what they could squeeze out of a team for a trade.

WITH THAT, you will see several teams making offers pretty soon if this is the case (JMO) because the signing/trade is solely based on the Lions, not Harrington. IF the Lions hold out until late May and no team has met/exceeded what Miami has offered, I think he will be in Miami. Again, Just because Harrington has agreed doesn't mean the Lions have. This could get interesting.

I think you're right. The way I understand it, as long as no one makes a better offer for Harrington than the Dolphins' offer, the Lions either have to take that, or get nothing.
