Update On James And Howard Status Per Grier

So the update is we have no real update as of today.

Makes sense. James' timeframe is more urgent, so I would expect them to address that first. I really like Grier saying that he is confident that Xavien Howard will remain with the team. He didn't confirm or deny any trade rumors, and we cannot know yet how those negotiations will play out, but this is absolutely the right thing to say. I just hope we can do it. Howard represents a young cornerstone player at a vitally important position, and while expensive, those are hard to find and rarely are actually replaced.
Nothing to see here. Of course Grier will say he wants to keep them but that doesn't mean anything. Actions speak louder than words. We shall see

That depends on what those picks would be used for. If they are for a QB prospect like Lawrence, yes. Otherwise, I keep Howard.
As great as Howard is, and as big a fan of him as I am, if the Raiders offered us two 1st rounds picks, it would upset and kill me, but good luck in Vegas.

I see us cutting or releasing 6 player. we still look like 6 to 9 win team in 2019. we have almost same weapon except thill17. just act like he is hurt. wr/rb are still going be fast. DB/lb are avg at best. add f/a and draft expect more ol/dl help. maybe qb in draft or f/a pickup.

Re-sign James. No need to create another hole. And then draft Cody Ford in round 1 and now we're talking.
