Looks like the Jags don't want him and aren't willing to deal in the ballpark. Dear God, you have granted us the miracle of a rich penny-pinching team that lacks talent.

And then if you read this, the Giants aren't sold on Arrington and probably wouldn't pay his asking price anyway. At this point it looks like the only competition is going to be with the Bengals, and we know Arrington wants to play in Florida; Cincy's going to have to forth up some big money to change his mind. Let's hope it doesn't happen.

Sounds good. Question is when is he making that second visit to Miami? It sounded like it would happen immediately after Jax but it didn't and now he is rescheduling (or been to) Cinci? This is stretching out longer than I thought it would. But I guess Saban's patience will pay off and we'll get Lavar at a fair price.

ok found the actual articles...well snippets really at the bottom of the page

http://www.thejournalnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060328/SPORTS01/603280322/1042/SPORTS0103

"Former Washington linebacker LaVar Arrington finished his visit to Jacksonville Sunday, but he and the Jags were believed to be worlds apart on money demands. Looks like it's between the Dolphins and Giants again, with neither team eager to meet his $6 million-per-year price. ..."

"Cincinnati coach Marv Lewis confirmed to bengals.com that he would love to sign former Washington linebacker LaVar Arrington. But the Bengals, like the Giants and Dolphins, won't begin talking numbers with Arrington until his price tag drops. ... "

Just pay the man what he wants, were imidiately superbowl contenders if we do

I don't want to ruin our cap for future years. I like what Saban is doing with him he offered him what the TEAM could affored to offer him.

I agree. If we need a LB that bad...grab Lawson in the 1st or whoever the BPA at LB is. Much cheaper over the course of the next 4 years....

edit: then again...guess no one wants to pay him his asking price...lol. We will all have to wait and see how far down he comes I guess. Maybe it'd be worth it....maybe not.

Is it me or is it seem just wrong to have a link to another Fins forum. Kinda like cheating on the mrs.

since the poster at the other site didn't link it....it took me a few minutes to find the little blurbs at the actual newspaper. Just easier I suppose rather then trying to hunt it down. I NEVER visit any other sites for fins...or football even...or really anything...other then finheaven

He is going to Cinci.

While i think his connection with Marvin Lewis may help in his choice. I think the lack of a state income tax in florida will appeal more to his financial side. so it is hard to say. Who knows Arizona could come out of nowhere and snag him.
