Dolphins | Muschamp one of the leading candidates for MTSU position
Sat, 10 Dec 2005 07:11:17 -0800

Adam Sparks, of the Daily News Journal, reports Miami Dolphins assistant coach Will Muschamp is a leading candidate for the vacant head coach position at Middle Tennessee State University.

Looks like he has a very good chance of being the HC there.

Defensive Coordinator Dean Peas? (No idea if thats how you spell Peas, or even his first name.. BUT.. he is the LBs coach on the Pats and I remember last year hearing that his contract with them expires this season and he has worked with Saban in the past)

I still don't see it as being a very good move for him but...who knows. I guess the allure of being 'in charge' is pretty compelling.

Oh, and I know Muschamp isnt the "coordinator" but lets be honest... he is.

Congrats to him if he can get the job. I think you will see a lot of head coaches turned out by Saban.

Lots of coaches start at a small school, make their bones, move up to a bigger program, and sometimes to the nfl. You gotta start somewhere and nobody's handing him the USC, Notre Dames, Floridas, etc jobs.

Thanks for the update Ace, I was realy hoping he would stay for a while.

If Saban is willing to make him the DC next year, I think that will be enough to get him to stay. Otherwise, I fully expect him to skate. I wish him the best, too.
