June first cut FYI-
Players cut on or after June 1st only have the current years prorated bonus and any salary that may be guaranteed for that year count against the cap. Any other cap monies would then be charged to the following seasons cap. Each team may designate up to 2 players per season as June first cuts and cut them before June first. Although the cut players are then free to sign with another team at that point the monies that would otherwise be owed the player if they had not been cut must be carried against the cap until June 1st.

Let the purge begin. So many contracts of players that did very little and can be lived without.

I'm willing to cut just about anyone except for Albert, Grimes, Tannehill, Wake, Miller, Sims, and the 2014 rookies. Everyone else is overrated and overpaid, and they can gtfo.

It is just mind blowing how much $ these guys make. Even the bottom of the roster guys are making unreal cash. With even a few short years of play these guys could set themselves up for life. If they are smart with their money that is.

Ellerbe gone.

Wheeler gone.

Starks gone.

Finnegan gone.

Hartline gone.

Gibson gone.

Opens up $27.66 on the cap

Hell...

Add Fields to the list...gone

Opens up $31.16 on the cap

Those Ellerbe, Hartline, Wheeler contracts are sickening. Ireland isn't responsible enough to have a piggy bank much less negotiate multimillion dollar contracts. There is a clear difference between how he and Hickey does things. Hickey's contracts are manageable and easy to get out of if things don't work out. The only ones he committed significant guaranteed money to were the two pro bowlers Albert and Grimes. Ireland also managed not to sign any of the younger emerged talents to reasonable extensions. He'd always wait until their value was at its highest before acting towards locking them up. I can't wait till this roster is cleared of his bull****.

$31 in cap.

Odrick walks.

Bring in Suh.

Clay gets a decent contract.

Look for a young up-coming CB to compete with Taylor/Davis.

Delams gets a decent contract.

Parker in 1st round.

Maybe Iupati? :idk:

That section from Hartline all the way down to Gibson:

Brian Hartline/WR $7,350,000.00 $4,200,000.00 $3,150,000.00 $1,400,000.00 $5,950,000.00
Cortland Finnegan/CB $6,000,000.00 $1,000,000.00 $5,000,000.00 N/A N/A
Randy Starks/DT $6,000,000.00 $1,000,000.00 $5,000,000.00 N/A N/A
Dion Jordan/DE $5,610,627.00 $6,670,836.00 -$1,060,209.00 $3,335,418.00 $2,275,209.00
Earl Mitchell/DT $4,500,000.00 $1,500,000.0 0 $3,000,000.00 $0.00 $4,500,000.00
Koa Misi/OLB $4,438,000.00 $1,734,000.00 $2,704,000.00 $578,000.00 $3,860,000.00
Philip Wheeler/OLB $4,400,000.00 $4,200,000.00 $200,000.00 $1,400,000.00 $3,000,000.00
Brandon Gibson/WR $4,260,000.00 $1,000,000.00 $3,260,000.00 N/A N/A

Fix that one section and we are in much better shape.
Restructure or cut Ellerbe and do SOMETHING about Mike Wallace, and we are in even better shape.

if a player takes a pay cut or restructures their contract how does that affect the cap

Ellerbe gone.

Wheeler gone.

Starks gone.

Finnegan gone.

Hartline gone.

Gibson gone.

Opens up $27.66 on the cap

Hell...

Most of that probably will happen. Not sure what happened to Starks. I'm wondering about a restructure on Wake and an extension to Pouncey as well.
