Ernest is next to go FYI. If we add a WR in any way he will be the first one to go. Most likely will get the shaft after the Draft.

Will cost us $4 million over the length of his contract due to his bonus getting Pro-Rated. It will not cost us $4 million in base salary this season. In the end it will save us money.

Why do we need a guard?

Smiley is a great run blocking guard....who had an unfortunate injury last year.
The trifecta is extremely high on Donald Thomas.
And don't be surprised if Samson starts next year at G somewhere.
Plus we just signed Joe Berger who is awesome G depth.
So please explain to me why we need a guard?

Teams need roughly $5 - $7 million to sign all their draft picks. Charlie Anderson could get cut, if we signed Kevin Burnett Reggie Torbor may get cut.......Their is always ways to cut down a fat roster. Plus Wilford will be gone....Believe that.

I'm pretty sure with the adjustment in the CBA, bonuses are no longer pro-rated for players cut while under contract due to 2010 being an un-capped year. His hit would affect this year's salary cap.
