25- C. Barwin OLB/TE

44- Sean Smith CB

56- H. Johnson OG/RT

87- Shawn Nelson TE

104- Ramses Barden WR

153- Jasper Brinkley ILB

168- Chris Baker NT

215- Brice McCain CB

220- Dominique Edison WR

That would be a good draft in my opinion and as possible as any i've seen. Barwin (and selecting OLB early period) is growing on me, i am one who wanted to go CB and WR in the first two picks but i do like sean smith and if Ramses Barden could be had in the 4th, then i would definately chose this draft over most i've seen.

Barden is NOT going to make it out of the 3rd round...hell,when he ran a 4.56 at his Pro Day at 6'6",230,I wouldnt be suprised if his name is called earlier than the thrid round.

....Oh,and same going for Baker,he is a destoned 3rd rounder,no more,no less.

It would be a horrendous mistake to take Herman Johnson that high...he is going to drop IMO, and I wouldn't even want him. He is too slow footed to play T, and doesn't bend at the waist well enough to play G. Ramses Barden can't separate, and has performed poorly at the positional postseason workouts. Connor Barwin is not good value at #25. Not sure Jasper Brinkley lasts that long. Also, not sure if Sean Smith has the hips to play CB in the pros and would prefer several other corners who will go in that same area over him.

Other than that, I like it.

Lets take each of your problems one at a time;

H. Johnson...Johnson is a guard...but he can also play RT if you have that need....that makes him valuable!

"One of the most physically imposing players in college football, Johnson is a tremendous physical specimen. The biggest player to ever wear the purple and gold, Johnson started the final 38 games he appeared in, lining up at right offensive guard in three of those contests before taking over left guard duties. Despite his massive frame and considerable bulk, Johnson is surprisingly light on his feet, registering 16 down field blocks over the past two seasons. He shows very good mechanics for a player of his size and his road grading ability could see him shift to offensive tackle in the NFL, as he also has performed at right tackle during the earlier stages of his career with the Tigers."

For a player of his size, Johnson flashes decent knee bend, as his feet get out in front of his body properly playing in the short area (will lose balance running long distances, though). When he stays on his feet, he generates a good kick to his slide, and he can ride the defender off the play when he plays flat-footed. He keeps his head on a swivel and is able to pick up stunts, but gets in trouble when he lunges, which causes him to lose his balance and end up on the ground. He makes good contact in the trenches, but on the move, he will sometimes extend to far and lose his balance. He will also get off-balance a bit when working outside off the edge, but can pick up stunts late. When he tires on the field, he will revert to leaning into the defender or overextending to try to keep them at bay, but he will then lose power in his punch, allowing the opponent to slip off his glancing blows. While he is prone to overextending more than a position coach would like, he will generally play on his feet. He does not get beaten by the pass rush often, as he does show good foot quickness to recover (allowed just 3.5 sacks during the last two years as a starter, encompassing 815 pass plays).

Now lets look at Ramses Barden;

"Scouts who hadn't seen Barden play until his Mustangs took on annual Big Ten contender Wisconsin in Madison late in 2008 were pleasantly surprised by his skills. He has won numerous All-American and all-conference accolades, but production at the FCS level (122 catches for 2,724 yards - a 21.9-yard average - and 36 touchdowns the past two seasons) does not always translate to NFL success. But he proved himself more than just a tall jump-ball threat against the Badgers, and teams took notice. If he's not a first-day pick, his name should be called early Sunday morning."

Not only have the Dolphins interviewed him but they also have brought him in....if you remember....Parcells had a large receiver that compares to Barden...K. Johnson. If you have read the papers...K. Johnson has said "he knows what kind of receiver the Dolphins want in this draft."

Conner Barwin;

Barwin has more potential than any linebacker in this draft....but he also has what Parcells likes in his players, Size...Speed and agility.

Jasper Brinkley;

Brinkley is coming off a injury that happened in 2007;

"Missed all but four games of the 2007 season after tearing his ACL. … Underwent surgery September 2007 and wasn't the same player in 2008, when his athleticism was nowhere close to what it was pre-injury."

Sean Smith;

If you take the time to look at the combine stats between Smith and the so-called top Corners...you'll see that Smith is as equal as one player can be;

Sean Smith....10yd....1.53, shuttle...4.15....cone...6.92

D. Butler....10yd....1.46, shuttle....4.18....cone...6.84

M. Jenkins...10yd...1.47,...shuttle....4.08....cone...6.59

V. Davis....10yd...1.47,....shuttle....4.07....cone...6.75

My guess is that there's little chance for the Dolphins to acquire Jenkins...I would assume Davis would be off the Dolphins board due to his attitude problem...but even with that...no other corner is as large...or can out jump Smith. With the problem of larger and larger receivers...the day of 5'9" or 5'10" corners is coming to a end....they simply can't cover the receivers in the red zone.

I have done a draft as I believe that Parcells will...not by saying I want this guy...or that guy...but comparing who I find most likely will be available when the Dolphins select. It will change...many times between now and draft day...different picks the Dolphins will pick up...or if the case players...will effect any draft.

This is as good a player rating page as I can find...it's done well and I hope it helps all.

You think Parcells would do a draft like this? I don't.

I don't like the draft, because I don't like several of the players in several of the spots you have them. Nothing more, nothing less,

First it's not important what I or you or anyone else thinks...all mocks are wrong. The point is to try to place a player in the postion that he may fit, at the time of the teams selection.

Everyone of my picks are based upon my best info at this time...as an example;

C. Barwin...is it too early to select him at 25....perhaps...but he is rising up the boards...in just two weeks he has gained appx 10 spots...by draft day...is it a leap for him to be in the top 1st round...no.

C. Baker....some have him higher....some don't have him on their boards...where do the Dolphin stand? As far as I know...the Dolphins haven't interviewed him or brought him in...so is he a risk at 168? That of course is up to Parcells...and he isn't talking.

It doesn't make sense to wish for a player that won't be in the Dolphins selection area...or doesn't meet their standards, to begin with.

pretty much agree with everything said, I think Barden may suprise in NFL however. everything else i agree with.

also, to who said Baker is going to be a 3rd rounder earlier, i seriously doubt that. his character is a HUGE question mark and will likely drop to the bottom of the draft. ive heard some teams have him off their board all together.

This I can agree with. Mock drafts are fun, and I read a lot of them, but in the end it's what the Dolphins believe and do that matters.

To be fair, I have not seen Barden play live in person, so I could be completely wrong on him. Something about the things I've read, and his inability to completely dominate his level that worries he won't be able to separate against NFL CB's. To me, this draft is fairly weak after the second round, so it is anyone's guess what we do after that point.

Consider this info;

The touchdown catch by Barden in overtime extended his streak of consecutive games with a scoring reception to 19, surpassing the all-time NCAA record of 18 set by Larry Fitzgerald of Pittsburgh in 2002 and 2003.

Barden also has surpassed the all-time NCAA mark for most games catching a touchdown pass in his career with 31. Ryan Yarborough of Wyoming caught a touchdown pass in 27 games from 1990-93.

Barden passed Jerry Rice of Mississippi Valley State for the FCS marks in both categories earlier this season (17 consecutive games and 26 career contests). Barden also is one touchdown catch shy of Randy Moss's NCAA FCS record for consecutive games with a touchdown catch in a season (11).

When you consider Barden acquired in 11 games...67 receptions, 1257 yds, 18.8 ypr...18td's...longest 67 yds 114.3 yds per game.

Against Wisc...he has 6 rep for 81 yds 1 TD.
