Assuming the price could be very reasonable, what about Kevin Mawae at center? He could still be a great player for a couple of years and may be a cap casualty.

Probably not. He's ancient, and our blocking scheme doesnt fit him at all.

He is old, and he does have injury concerns, but I'm not sure I would agree that he doesn't fit our scheme. Mawae was always best pulling as a center and finding blocks on the second level. He might not be able to do this as well given his advance age and limited mobility, but I don't think our scheme requires much movement from the center. With our zone blocking scheme, Mawae would be more of a positional blocker. I like his experience and tenacity more than anything.

I would rather snag the Center from Minn whom is a pro bowl talent.

but really I dont think we need a Center. Rex played Very very well at center after he was moved over. He is better at center then he is at guard. the problems on the line lessened and pretty much stopped after he took over the signal calls. I really think we have bigger needs like a Right guard

center

Only one fa center BENTLEY:dolphins:

Young ,talented and we will have to pay big $$$
but I think it would be worth it if we released some of the dead
beats stealing money from the dolphins as we speak.

draft Nick Mangold. Problem solved.

JAY CUTLER-23 REPS AT THE COMBINE "QB"
NICK MANGOLD-24 REPS AT THE COMBINE "CENTER" :sidelol:

"VERY EMBARRASSING TO SAY THE LEAST"

So, No to the problem solved idea.

You're kinda mixing things up here. Miami doesnt zone block, they man block. Mawae would be a bad fit for a man blocking scheme. We do have the Centers and Guards pull occasionally, but I dont think it's enough to justify a 6'4" 289 pound Center.

Same thing with Mangold. Odds are Miami is not going to be interested in anyone that small, and that finesse oriented.

I agree with Finsfan79.

I think Hadnot is most comfortable playing the center position and does well there.

I would look for a RG to fill that void. We currently have Ephraim, W. Smith, Berger that could fill that role. Actually Ephraim's contract is up March 3rd so he might not be back. I like W. Smith for his versatility but as a backup. I don't think Berger will be ready to start next year but we will see.

I am definately looking forward to TC to see how these project guys turn out. Alabi and Berger for the O-Line and Vickerson, Wright, S. Mitchell, F. Gibson as other projects. Hopefully one or two can step up and contribute this year.

Dwight stevenson was light as a feather, tough as nails as a technician. Are you a combine fool? Me thinks so.

Dwight Stephenson also played at a time where you could be a 6'2" 255 pound O-linemen.

Different ERA...PLAYERS WERE ALL SMALLER BACK THEN

CHECK YOUR INFO!!!(and I bet Dwight could bench press more than the QB)

Combine fool...maybe, but it's much better than being a plain ole FOOL!!:sidelol:

NA, your missing the point. Mangold is tough and is a technician. I dont care about blocking schemes. Dude can do the job. I used Dwight as a reference to show how good he was because he was as I say mangold is except he is bigger.

Besides, I think some people need to stop and think about FA and what is happening in the league right now and our cap situation. Of course, people forget the big picture. Draft Nick Mangold and alot of our team probs will dissapear.

I dont know how anyone can not like Mangold. I just know i am not the fool here.

I don't like the pick as I previously stated. He does not fit what we are trying to do(SCHEMES) plus HE BENCHED 24 REPS(SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THAT)

People don't forget the big picture...we are here because we are passionate about the Dolphins and football in general but I would spend whatever free agent dollars on Brees and Bentley and draft our other needs

Bentley would step in and produce like the pro bowl player that he is .

You have your opinion about Nick Mangold and I have mine...your not going to change my mind and I'm not going to change yours so lets hope for the best for the Dolphins and no matter which direction Saben takes regarding rebuilding this team I will be behind him 100%.
