I was just combing the depth charts looking at who may be available after a few rounds of roster cuts. Several teams had decent depth but also drafted a rookie or two this year. Some are also in prime trade position due to various reasons.

Here are some familiar names that could be on the roster bubble...

Baltimore: Trent Richardson, Terrence West

Houston: David Cobb, Bishop Sankey

Dallas: Lance Dunbar

Giants: Shane Vereen, Andre Williams

Philly: Darren Sproles

Chicago: Jacquizz Rodgers, Kadeem Carey

Detroit: Stevan Ridley

STL: Tre Mason

See any upgrades over what we have?

May be in the minority but would like to see what Ajayi has got with runs designed for him. Showed good explosiveness and with a decent line could be dangerous I think.

Of that list, only one worth even entertaining trade ideas for is Shane Vereen. Even so, the Giants would be fools to trade/let him go. Running the ball he is meh, but passes out of the backfield and those quick shots on outs to protect his Qb are priceless, when people say 3rd down back, Shane is the picture that comes to mind.

Yea I wasn't even entertaining the thought of getting vareen cuz most likely it won't happen.. Mason would be my number one choice otherwise

Meh.

I might be inclined to kick the tires on Vereen if he's released, but I'm sure as hell not trading for any of 'em.

I think Cobb would be a nice fit. A back that isn't on your list that could be available that I also like is Lorenzo Talifero from Baltimore. I might be willing to give Sanky or West a look as the fourth back behind Drake, Ajayi and Williams.

I wouldn't be surprised if we pick up Juwan Thompson if he gets cut from Denver crowded backed field. He's familiar with the system Gase runs having played for him in Denver.

I'd look at Seattle, see who they cut. Lance Dunbar is an interesting name also

Rawles, Michael and four youngsters (Zac Brooks, Tre Madden, CJ Prosise and Alex Collins) somebody decent is going to hit the street.

What happened to Bishop Sankey? Guy was all-everything in college and all-nothing in the pros, not even going to make roster in year 3.

I get the feeling, and they have kinda indicated it, that they may roll with they have (not that I agree) unless an injury happens..
