After watching the game a few times and observing where we messed up at... I've concluded where our main problems really are...

Safety, LB, QB play, and WR.

I've noticed by watching every game this season that Will Allen and Andre Goodman are good cover guys. And Travis Daniels and Will Poole will be back next year to compete for the nickle and dime back duties.

We've constantly struggled in the middle of the field in the passing game, particularly with covering TE's.

Ahmad Green's play where he ran it in for a TD threw gas to the fire about our LB and S's playmaking abilities. Our LBs are not good at pass coverage, neither are they good at blitzing and rushing the passer.

We need to make changes at LB and S next season.

On Offense, Harrington is at least 60% at fault of its woes. He's ignored or missed Chambers being open numerous times, overthrown receivers, and is responsible for 5 of his 7 Ints.

Hopefully a healthy Culpepper will solve the QB play.

We need a speedy, big time WR. One that can put fear in opposing secondaries. Chambers is good, but we need to replace Booker...(who has great hands but is too slow)...with a big speedster.

I think that by bringing back Shelton, Carey, and MacIntosh...we will be good at pass blocking.

Hadnot and Mckinney can man the middle. But we need Toledo, a draft pick, and/or free agent to step up and become our "maulers" at G.

The jury is still out on James. Last year they touted him as being our best OLineman so I don't want to jump on the bandwagon and make him the line's scapegoat just yet.

McMichael's blitz pickup has been atrocious. Hopefully he can get his act together as the season progresses.

Free agency has about 2 to 3 good LBs that should be available. Forget about Briggs...he'll be franchised. So I can see us adding a LB via free agency.

We need to focus our 1st and 2nd round picks on WR and OG.

Our 3rd round picks and beyond can be used on LBs, BPA's, and a backup NT. Especially if Traylor decides to retire after this season.

So that's my conclusion.

JH was probably responsible for 4 of his ints and as someone pointed out in another thread CC seems to slow down when the ball is in the air. Booker doesn't seem to have trouble catching long passes from JH.
Keep dreaming about DC, becuase it will never become a reality.

add return specialist, unless Vick gets a shot and is actually a threat..

If Will Poole was gone, we would've not had put him on IR. He'll be in training camp next year.

That will be answered the rest of the year.

Harrington should only have 3 interceptions....one a game. Daniels is not a quality corner...to start with....he doesn't have corner speed...and if not for the fact that he played for Saban....and came cheaply....he wouldn't be on the team. He was the 104th player taken in the draft....how many Corners were taken before him and how many teams...including the Dolphins...pass over him at least 3-4 times....now he can't stay healthy.

Five. The only ones that weren't his fault was the one to Chambers down the middle in the NYJ game and the one to McMichael down the middle in the 1st quarter of the GB game off of Mcmichael's finger tips. The rest were his fault.

He either threw it right at the defensive player, threw it where he shouldn't of had, or overthrew the receiver and into the DB's hands like the one that was run back for a TD in GB, which was a "VERY" bad decision.

Harrington is playing good other than that part. But he doesn't throw down field. He is too nervous and rushing his passes because he is too worried about outplaying DC and avoiding sacks.

Bad decision making.

I never stated that he was a starter. I said that he would battle it out with Poole for nickleback duties. Our starters Allen and Goodman have been good starters. It's our safeties and linebackers that have struggled in the passing game. Also, our linebackers have struggled rushing the QB.

If our Corners are healthy, u know they ain't terrible. I agree that Allen and Goodman are average to above average coverage guys who will be wayy more successful with a better blitz package from our LB's and better safety help. I definetly would agree with you in saying we need a speedy WR to go alongside Chambers and Hagan. At safety, I think Jay Allen and Bell will be more successful and our secondary will be above average, not excellent but not what it is now, not even close.

So definetly if in the draft we can get a Calvin Johnson (when u pick high, u gotta take BPA . . . meaning even if u need MArio Williams u go Reggie Bush because he is the superior pick), then go with LB and then OLine with our first 3 picks, we will be solving some problem areas, tho if there is a franchise LT where we pick in round 1, I understand if we pull the trigger on him.

Man I wish we had the number one last year. Reggie Bush, Demaco Ryans and Eric Winston . . . .man that would have solved some problems in a hurry.

Chambers....McMichael twice...Welker....thats four that should have been caught. I wrote earlier that Culpepper's longest completion this season was 52 yds I believe...Harrington's is 44 yds. Not every long pass is successful...and for vaious reasons...not always the fault of the QB. Every QB throws interceptions....did you watch the Cowboys last night....How did Bledsoe do?
Marino threw his fair share....so did Elway and Favre. A QB throws appx 15-16 interceptions a season....regardless of whom they are...it's a fact of life...ours are compounded by the hands or lack of same...of our receivers...lets hope it changes.

An INT is an INT, just like when a QB throws a bad pass and a WR has to play defender, we don't add that to the "should of been INT" column . . . Joey has had 7 INT's in 3 games . . . which is totally UNACCEPTABLE, I don't care how Joey fans sugarcoat it . . . he needs to get better and that should be his main focus. I will be highly upset if he is satisfied with his play and is at home thinking its the receivers fault.

I agree that we need a #1 WR in the 1st round this upcoming draft. But you can't stick your face in the sand and pretend that you didn't notice that Harrington was 60% of why we lost the game on Sunday.

And no, McMichael wasn't at fault on the second INT that went back for a TD. Harrington made a bad throw and into "TRIPLE" coverage. Bad decision.
