“We have played some great football at times, but we’ve shot outselves in the foot and we are going to stop doing that,” Harrington said. “Once you get that out of the way, I think we will have a chance to beat anybody in this league. I don’t care what our record is.”

Harrington has a solid complement of skill-position players in running back Ronnie Brown, wide receivers Chris Chambers, Marty Booker and Wes Welker and tight end Randy McMichael.

“They’ve got probably the best skill group we’ve played all season long,” Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher said.

But something similar could have been said for most of Harrington’s four seasons in Detroit after the Lions made him the No. 3 pick in the 2002 draft. Yet statistically speaking, Harrington was never better than mediocre, posting a personal-best quarterback rating of 77.5 in 2004.

The numbers did not tell the whole story, either. Harrington often appeared jittery in the pocket and did not display the blue-chip arm strength teams saw in him at Oregon.

Predictably, the Bears do not want to hear about that sort of thing.

“He’s made some good throws that we’ve seen on film, and he’s made some mistakes,” Urlacher said. “Everyone makes mistakes.”

Defensive coordinator Ron Rivera said the Dolphins’ system is a better fit for Harrington than Detroit’s West Coast offense.

“He’s got a strong enough arm for the vertical passing game that these guys employ,” Rivera said. “This system bodes better for him because of his arm.”

Haha, Urlacher seems to have a higher opinion of Joey than some Dolphins fans. I agree with Rivera, Joey's a better fit for our offense especially since it's a lot more congruent with Oregon's than Detroit's. With our average OL, we need a QB who can make quick decisions and Joey's still got the potential that made him a 3rd overall pick.

Good read man! Thanks, nice to see Harrington get some respect even if some of these supposed Dolphin fans dont want to acknowledge him. Urlacher and Rivera are stand up guys

Killer! Maybe this will shut up all those whiney fans that had their feelings hurt. We beat them fair and square. They did not give us the game. The Dolphins DOMINATED!!
