was thinking about this lately. i've lived in wisconsin, and now in michigan. ive never been around any other miami fans since it's all packers, bears, lions over here. i actually made better sports friends with other fans of random teams. a lot of the information i use and facts i support our team with comes from this site. i first off want to thank everyone for their thoughts and input on the team, but also was wondering about the rest of us loners out on their own. what are your rituals? i'll start this off...

i come on finheaven almost every day just to browse for any news. i used to use the number 13 on random things like microwave times, feeds and speeds at work, etc. now i've changed to the number 17. i'm really not sure why but i hope it's a good sign.
on sundays i take over the living room, invite friends over who want to watch or their team plays at a different time, and send the rest of the family (bears fans) to the basement to watch their game.

monday morning i get up and usually take my flag down from the front of the house and get my excuses ready. but after a good win like week one last year, i let that thing fly! i drive to work with a flag in my car window as well. sometimes a game can make or break my week at work. that damn packers game really stung. my son was born on the day of the lions game, that was a little bittersweet.

tuesday it starts all over again.
thanks again for all the information you all gather and share!

my ritual usual starts on a sour note when the tv maps let me know i'm watching either the jets or buffalo. sometimes both.

Chuck Dezi - Get set to fly the aqua flag regularly this year and some closet Dolfans will surface.

My flag has been on the front porch for years. I'm stuck in Steelers country (with a Bills fan right next door) ... **** 'em! Let it fly in their faces 365 days a year. Tell 'em Bump said so.

I know how you feel OP. I have grown up in California for most of my life with somewhat brief stints in Colorado, and Utah so meeting other Phins fans is quite rare. I live near Sacramento now so there's a mix of Raiders and Niners fans mostly around here including some of my closest friends. A lot of them have grown to like the Phins over the years due to my enthusiasm for the team and they usually root for them on Sundays now as a result.
Last season I went to a local sports bar for the Chargers game wearing my aqua Ronnie Brown and I actually met another Miami fan upon walking in. We made eye contact, saw the jerseys (he had a Wallace jersey on) and we both went nuts like we had known each other for years. We had some good laughs that day as we watched our beloved Dolphins thrash the Chargers that day. (Until the network changed games early in the 4th because we were up 30-0 or something like that)

I grew up in Toronto where surprisingly there are tons of Dolphins fans. No one in my circle was interested in football. I used to visit my grandparents in Florida every winter and when they passed shortly after I remember I was randomly watching the Dolphins jets game on a Monday night and the colours of the Dolphins uniforms brought back memories of me visiting my grandparents. That was back in 01 or 02 and I've been a die hard fan ever since.
I had a teal 97 grand marquis when I was 20 years old and I had Dolphins bumper stickers, licence plate covers and even a foam head on the back seat. Only then did I realize how many fans there were. People would come up saying I love the Dolphins or this is our year! It never was, but hopefully this year things change!
I pay 40$ a month just so I can watch my Dolphins play on Sundays.

Iowa. There's quite a few of us here. Of course, I live 20 miles away from Vern Den Herder. I have 37 years invested in this team. Revered Don Strock when I was a kid.

I'm in the belly of the beast...New York City...Home of the Jests...Thank God for Sunday Ticket. I spent way too many years watching the Jests and the Giants.
