USA Today-Inside Slant

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Beck has a short leash..., he is unfortuantely tied to CamRam and don't be surprised if he becomes our insurance QB of the future..., players will slide especially as Jrs declared..., so if Woodson is there at 32... Don't be surprised... You cannot have too many good QBs who push each other...

Amazing how every story regarding the Dolphins is talking about fixing the QB situation and none of them are saying that Beck will be the starter next year. First Parcells with his volatility comment, then Ireland with his evaluation comment, now Sporano though I dont see a quote in the article. Matt Ryan baby, Come on down

maybe ryan if there is trade or we are so enamored

defensive stats...ouch

wow those defensive stats when placed in line like that are absolutely sickening to look at... especially when defense it's all we had to hang our hat on for seasons past. not anymore and even then 3rd down was a killer... but it would appear even more so recently ;)

can only get better from here :>)

a question i have is this qoute "Mike Maser, a 34-year coaching veteran who was out of football in 2007, was the first assistant hired. He'll oversee the offensive line."
to which i ask why?
was there a health reason or something like that as to me i don't see many oline coaches unemployed for long in todays nfl???

Good article. It sounds to me like Sparano will be able to coach the team and run his system even though Parcells will probably be closely watching his moves. Our defense had a lot of problems last year, but look at all the injuries we had. Zach has been our leading tackler for years, and he missed about half the season. Our d-backs were banged up from the start so it is no wonder we had the worst red-zone defense in the league. I think a healthy Yerimiah Bell and the Allens will turn this around, but we need to draft a CB or two, and/or bring in a solid FA d-back.

My biggest concern is at QB. We are going to continue sputtering on offense until we find our franchise QB. Beck should be given more of a shot, but I also think adding a Derek Anderson, or drafting a solid prospect is the way to go.

At da end adaday I think you're right.

More than anything else, that Sparano played and coached O-line is the best indicator that this unit is, once and for all, finally going to be fixed. I realize the article points to him fixing QB first. But with his background it should be safe to say he recognizes what it takes to protect that QB.

Darn good info from an outside source, pretty right on, usually you don't see that unless your on Finheaven. maybe it was CK cheating on us.

Flozell Adams or Jordan Gross in free agency due to the Dallas/ Carolina connections? Maybe Kerry Brown in the draft to plug up that guard spot you mentioned in another post

The Giants turned Flozell Adams into a turnstyle. I'll pass.

A great find FFiC, some of their stuff was a little off concerning which player did what last yr but other then that Top Notch....

They had Rod wright doing "okay" but "Q" Moses being a wonderful find?

Mark Dixon or Chad Henne at one of our #2's?

The "d" was just sad last season, 3rd down and long may as well been second and short..

But this number is probably the one we will see the most improvement in this season:

The Dolphins' special teams, particularly the coverage units, were atrocious, finishing last in the league in opponents' starting field position (32.9-yard line). That was directly attributable to poor personnel decisions in the offseason by Randy Mueller and Cameron, who allowed special teams stalwarts such as Travis Minor, Sammy Morris, David Bowens and Darian Barnes to leave.

Last in the league...

I would too but Parcells likes " his guys". Flozell may be our Right Tackle next year which would be an upgrade over who we had. My fear is if we bring Flozell over he may become our Left Tackle which would suck because I think Carey would be the better option there
