The Dolphins knew what they were doing when they handed Ryan Tannehill a big contract. He’s always improving in the pocket and throws a good ball. He still has room to grow as a quarterback -- before the snap, in particular -- and could do a better job of using his athleticism, but there’s no reason to think he won’t continue to get better.

No surprise with #15 ranking for Tannehill. I think he has nowhere to go but up from here on out.

I'd argue that he should be ahead of Cam and Stafford. But, he'll prove that all by himself this year. He's in top 10 this time next year. All I care about are wins.

Dinged him pretty good in several area's

"His completion percentage was a tad inflated by the Dolphins’ offense utilizing a lot of short throws and bubble screens"

"You rarely see him fire a ball into a tight window"

"He also has some trouble avoiding sacks if the pressure gets to him, unlike other dual-threat quarterbacks in his age group."

"He can get happy feet at times, which throws off his mechanics"

"Tannehill takes a lot of sacks against the blitz and his problems start before the ball is even snapped. There are times when the defense shows a heavy blitz against an undermanned protection and Tannehill makes no adjustments"

Did have some good to say also.

"But he has a good argument for being the best young pocket passer behind Andrew Luck."

An argument can be made that at this specific point in time he's comparable to or better than E. Manning, Ryan, Cam and/or Eli.. which would place him damn near the top 10. I do agree that he's a better selection than the likes of Dalton, Kaepernick, Cutler, Smith or Foles.. so I guess there's that too. Guess the author agrees with Chip Kelly since he has Bradford, while still below Tannehill as 7 or 8 QBs better than Foles. :idk:

slightly low but i agree with just about all of that except for the presnap fails to id the blitz and account for it...for my money just about all the pressure he faces comes from guys blowing pick up assignments or getting smoked off the los and coming free to the qb

now the handling that pressure part needs develpment...no doubt...furthermore in the old offense i saw tannehill id and account blitzers very well given his familiarity with the system...this current offense with more time and reps i see no reason as he becomes more familiar with the scheme and formations relative to defensive looks for it not to be the same

there's nothing wrong with his arm strength...he can rifle the ball when his feet are set and throws with the best of them on the hoof accuracy and paste wise

Tannehill pre-snap is excellent. Being in a new offense last year, he was slightly handcuffed by the staff in his options to check out. That will change this year.

The knock on his accuracy is asinine. You're either an accurate QB or you are not. Tannehill's accuracy is exceptional.

Meanwhile, they polish Brady's knob despite similar circumstance and give the cheat a 9.5:
Brady gets some flak for running a dink-and-dunk offense, but his precision is what makes it work.

Leave it to you to find the negative aspects of the article and post them over here for those of us that can't read.

Problem several of those complaints are wrong. I've seen multiple times when he's put a ball into extremely tight windows and came away completely amazed that it was completed. So mark that one off.

didn't he have a very very high rating against the blitz recently? Mark another one off.

Tannehill makes ALL the adjustments necessary, it's when your line can't handle those adjustments when it becomes a problem.

Seriously, be objective for once.

This person did not watch the 2012-2013 Miami Dolphins offense. Not even one game.

I watched the Colts game in indy a few years ago and he rocketed a pass to clay for a big gain. Myself and everyone around me were at a loss for words after that play! It was unreal. Wish I could see it on video

When I read that, I also remembered tanne throwing a few td's in really tight spots, so that's when I stopped reading

I'd have to question if tannehill has full audible control or if he has a run/pass audible or even the ability to audible at all.

I agree with this, as most of the NFL thrives on short passes. I always wondered why guys like Steve Young didn't get "dinged" for this, or Tom " throw it over the middle" Brady.
