I was reading on kffl on how all of the 40 times were done electronically, which means that they are about .08 sec slower than manual timing.. just thought that might be of interest

The .08 is subjective, nevertheless, if you take Matui's time into consideration, he ran under 5.0 for his 40.

I'm a little suprised that Duece Lutui only did 26 reps.

How can electronic be slower then manual?

LenDale didn't run and only did 15 reps. He better chart a 40 time soon or he's gonna be a late 1st maybe early second rounder.

That means Reggie Bush actually ran a 4.25? Damn that's fast!

eh? Sorry but I will take electronic timing before a hand taken time. I saw the same statement on NFL.com and thought it was ridiculous.
So does that mean that some 40 times are electronic and others are hand timed? Why not just electronically time everyone, seems stupid to me. I can't believe at this day and age people are still hand timing and using that as a 40 time. It's totally subjective as to when the watch is started and stopped. Crazy.

I'm no expert in the verticle jump, but 39" verticle for a 320 lb man really impresses me. Could that be a misprint? Reggie Bush only jumped 1.5" higher.

Justice is extremely athletic for his size.

Impressive numbers for Winston Justice!!!!!... and Bush too.
On the other hand, bad numbers for Lutui and Bing.
And Lendale White only 15 bench press??

I believe the NFL uses electronic timing as well. The differences are better explained by the athletes training instead of hitting.

Yes. Some schools don't have the facilities, the equipment or the finances to set up things the way USC does. It could be a matter of logistics not allowing electronic equipment to be set up effectively. USC players ran on an outdoor track. Ohio State players ran on AstroTurf.

The Combine is the only place where everything is supposed to be equal for everyone.

Reggie Bush and Matt Leinart pretty much proved that they are both ready for the next level in 2006. These two atheletes have been coached well.
