Will Sherman be smart enough to continue to use Will Yeatman in the power run game? Having three tackles on the line certainly helped last night. Getting the running game going, and staying with it, will help immensely down the stretch. It will help cut down the sacks on RT, open up play action passing game, and keep the D off the field and fresh.

I'd rather use Dion Sims.

We should always have 5 receiving weapons on the field at all times.

This is the Wildcat all over again. Teams will scheme for it and it will become useless.

I don't think we should use it too often, but I've seen the Patriots, Colts, Seahawks, and 49ers use it very well. But it shouldn't be a base package.

This is not the wildcat. It's just having another tackle on the line who can block. Yeatman will do better than having another running back try to lead for Miller.

You do realize other teams are attacking the 4 and 5 WR set, don't you? Why do you think so much pressure and so many sacks have occurred, when Miami has run these sets. Miami simple doesn't have the horses yet to consistently block 5-6-7 rushers on 3rd down using only 5 linemen!!!! it hasn't worked very well.

I didn't say anything about a 4 or 5 WR set. I'm suggesting a 2 TE set..

WR: Brian Hartline
WR: Mike Wallace
TE: Charles Clay
TE: Dion Sims
RB: Lamar Miller

That way, we keep 5 receiving threats on the field, while also having 7 big guys on the line.

I agree. If it becomes a crutch like the wildcat did, fa'get about it....(as Brooklyny as I can do online...)

I get the impression Sherman, regardless of the win, won't be happy unless he can throw it 80 times a game. It must have killed him to call all those running plays last night!

Egnew getting better. Sims has muffed some plays but whenever they get to opening up the TE's downfield, it should be fun.

IMO use it sparingly and at least once throw it to Yeatman (converted TE) to keep defenses honest.

It's actually Philbin who traditionally likes to throw it a lot more than Sherman. I seem to recall Mike responding to an interview question where he candidly said that he was more comfortable with a balance of throw and run, but then he quietly said he's not like Joe who always wants to throw a lot more. I'm sorry, I can't recall the actual interview, I think that it was the preseason and it was unusually light hearted.

That's interesting. I just hope that the way we won last night ass lit a fire in the team and can get a run of wins going.

Yep. It really only took the Bengals one half to make an adjustment. Now that it is on film and a teams are aware we might use this, they will be prepared. It isnt something we will be able to do long term. Eventually, we will have to get a real QB.
