V. Carey Interview

You entered your freshman year at The University of Miami weighing 368 pounds. How have you been able to mange your weight? “As an offensive lineman, you have to watch what you eat. When you go to McDonald’s, don’t get two sandwiches, get one. You can still have mass consumptions of food, but don’t make it an everyday thing.”

  Yep, a real health freak! That part made me crack up

I think the real question is how the hell did you get up to 368 lbs. when you were 18?

Vern sounds like a nice guy, but his responses weren't very inspiring. His response to "Miami Dolphins" was "pays my bills". Sure, it's an honest answer, but it doesn't sound like he's really into the game.

Prediction: It won't be until his 4th season that he shows his full potential; he'll be a good, but not great OT. A keeper? Yes. Worth a 1st AND a 4th? No. In hindsight, late 1st/early 2nd as many had originally predicted. LT or RT? Good question.

It was a late 1st. Although the 4th shouldn't have been traded. But that is another issue. He will be a strong part of our offense for years to come. With Hudson Houck at the coach, expect him to excell.
