you know...i've looked back and watched the o-lines play the past 2 weeks...and it looks like Vernon Carey is playing well...so maybe he wasn't a bust like so many people on this board have said.

now the new so called bust is r. brown...you guys are funny. r. brown is in his 2nd season...and he's playing behind a bad o-line right now...do you guys remember how r. williams looked in New Orleans his 1st 2 seasons? i bet he did not look like a pro bowler either. actually he did not looke that good at all..and that's a fact...and we all know that r. williams one the rushing title in miami...give it time folks.

Go Fins!!!

Ronnie is NO bust! And Carey has improved, I expect to see the whole OL improve now that they shuffled them around, they sure looked better yesterday than they have all season. Still a ways to go though.

true and they also played the 29th rush defense in the league...i bet that had something to do with it.

after they beat the Packers...and they go into their bye...we'll see how much our o-line has improved against the bears in week 9. the bears will probably be undefeated...oh maybe Marino can suit up for the game...and look the way he did when the Fins gave the Bears the only loss that season...anyway...back to reality...you know...C-PEP maybe ready to play in that game...he's played against the Bears a lot during his career...oh and so has Harrington...we'll see.

Go Fins!!!

In his second season Ricky rushed for a 1000 yards in 10 games, so he was far from struggling. That's an average of a 100 yards a game. Too many myths are getting laid on this board. Not many backs in the NFL average 100 yards a game. Name one this season.

Carey played well a year ago and has improved again in 2006. Anyone calling him a bust is rather stupid. And he's doing well playing out of position.

VC looks good, I think Shelton has found a home at G. I wonder if his salary is prohibitive for a G.

Vernon has been our best offensive lineman this season. If you look at yesterday's two big runs Ronnie had back-to-back, you will see him running off right tackle through lanes that Vernon sealed.

That being said, in response to Boomer, if he played right tackle his last two years at Tha U, we drafted him to be a right tackle, and he is now playing right tackle, how can Vernon be playing out of position?

yeah...i know this and do you remember all the fins fans on this board saying that v. carey was a bust? i remember. now the attetion is on r. brown as being the bust...how is c. williams doing in tampa? i just don't get fans some days...they are funny. no patience. funny thing is...some fans want saban fired already  what a bunch of clowns...it takes time folks...look at holmgren is seattle...look at hasselbeck...it took him some time to develop...this is not a quick fix...Saban took over a team that had some serious problems...very bad drafts...be patient with allen...i think this kid has all the skill to be great...he will be okay...hagan played okay yesterday...man i get pissed reading some of these threads.

Go Fins!!!

Because his best position is RG.

I'm sure RW having a 1,000 yard season had nothing to do with the 248 carries he got.....

carries or no carries he got a 1000 yards in 1o games, This was a bad N.O team. Don't know of any running backs for the Phins that ran for 1000 yards in 10 games except maybe Ricky. You act like any back that carries the 248 times in ten games would make a 1000. So that's all you have to do, run it alot and it will happen.

It's impressive, but not as impressive as you make it out to be. 4 ypc is pretty good under the circumstances; but you have to have the carries to get the yards.......and Ricky got the carries.

Carey has been our most dominate and consistent OL this year--bottom line.

I think his best position is LT. He looked great in training camp when we moved him there. He is great at sealing run blocks, but doesnt have the power or drive to plow people. And his best skill is his pass protection.

Eventually we need to move this guy over to LT when the rest of our line allows us...

Boom... I completely disagree with you. I dont think he fits RG at all. He has no power that you want in an interior lineman. He is a finess runblocker in that he will seal a hole pretty well, but he doesnt drive a guy back. I mean, he has the size for RG... but thats about it. What makes you feel he is a better fit for G than T?
