The real question is do you think the money we were giving C.Pace compared to what we'll have to pay the 2 best players at his position with the #1 pic is worth it? Are either of these two LB/DE draft prospects as good or will develope to be better than Pace, because at the end of the day the #1 pic is worth upwards of $30mill with Pace's contract offer was rumored to be $20-22mill which is considerbly less. We are definitely at a crossroad, positions usually dictates the average price of a contract but the players talents whether it be great or good, now, or will be in the future sets that price to be WORTH offering.
With that said is offering an OT (J.Long) $30mill worth it because of his position but not necessarilly because of his athletic/football ability compared to the 2 LB prospects?
it's definitely a head scratcher:ponder:

30mill is a lot of money for any position but it is what it is....I don't think we'll be able to trade down so we'll have to pick somebody at 1 and pay them.....the 2 Long are the 2 safest picks.....there's 1 thing we could do...we could let the clock run out on us and let the rams pick first and we'd pick 2nd and we'd still get one of them for less.

Ozzy rules!!

Or just say for get about those 3 and pic matt Ryan! lol...because of his position of course

IMO, Chris Long and Gholston will both be better than Calvin Pace for sure. But if we would have forked over $20M to Pace, we'd still have to pay $30M to whoever we took at the top of the draft anyway. So it makes no difference.

For this very reason I'm glad Pace did not sign. Now we have more cap to work with and we don't get an over paid nobody.
